I normally do not post non-positive reviews but I feel this is important to post. Do yourself a favour and avoid them at all costs! Getting them to fix our plumbing issues was the worst decision we have ever done. They are beyond unprofessional. Dispute resolution was absolutely atrocious and we gave up in the end. It was probably what they really wanted. Complete rip off merchants. Do not trust them or use them! If I could give them zero stars, I would.

We had left for a holiday and turned off our gas main. This turned off the gas hot water system. We called Mr splash who has no calling out fee. However they charged $385 to relight the gas heater. This took less than 2 minutes. This is ridiculous fee compared to any High paid job in Sydney. There is instructions in the panel how to relight the gas heater which we did not know. How can you charge $385 for a job which takes less than 5minutes with nothing to fix??

BEWARE !!!!

I blame myself entirely for getting caught out – you would think that being retired means I’ve seen it all, but I still fell for one of the oldest tricks in the books.

I have a water-hammer noise in my plumbing and requested a quote from Mr Splash to fix it. They arrived very promptly, listened to the problem and then in their expert opinion said it was the washers in the taps in the laundry causing the problem. It could be fixed immediately for $640. I said ok as I had lived with the problem long enough and wanted it fixed.

They then disappeared for 45 minutes to get parts (even though there is a Reece plumbing, Cass Brothers Plumbing and a Bunnings within 5 minutes). The taps in the laundry were then replaced but it made no difference to the water hammer problem.

Mr Splash insisted that I pay the $640 immediately, but they would send through a quote to go under the house and clip the pipes in an attempt to stop the noise hammer – if I accepted the new expensive quote for clips then they would look to refund some of the original $640.

So, in summary, $640 paid to have 2 taps replaced (for no reason) … equivalent of $300 p/h labour and $40 parts.

I’m not certain, but I think in the movies they call this the ‘bait & switch’.

Make your own mind up, this is just my experience.

I would highly recommend Mr Splash Plumbing because this company and all their staff go above and beyond our expectations. They used Covid 19 safe protocols, were efficient, knowledgeable, quick, friendly, considerate and very professional and their fees were better than others we received.
