We had a most enjoyable day at this clean, friendly and well kept zoo. Only reason for going was because I’d bought a Tiger Encounter for my cat mad friend’s birthday and it was fantastic. We will be returning to experience more close enoucnters with your beautiful animals.

Great place for a visit! If you're a local I'd invest in the annual pass, pricey for a single visit. Friendly staff. Clean grounds and plenty of spots for a picnic. The only critique is the coffee could do with some work.

We purchased a family membership which works out to be excellent value across the year (one off entry is rather expensive). The zoo continues to evolve and improve. Our son absolutely loves it and it's a great day out, especially when you make use of the free BBQs and picnic area.

Approximate cost: $100

Went here recently and the zoo astomphere and environment was really beautiful, they dont have a lot of animals on display most of the animals they only had one. The fairy penguin looked quite lonely, the lions were sleeping, so it wasnt really that entaining. The aquarium was probably one of the best things about the place. Its not really a all day event, maybe 3hrs at the maximum you'd spend there. They have about 12 lockers to hire which are around $4.00 for 2hours to hire and thats a big locker. Price is for one pensioner adult.

Approximate cost: $35.00

It's amazing how many Canberra locals I have spoken to who were completely unaware they had a zoo & aquarium on their doorstep - let alone that it is one of, if not the best zoo I have been to... San Diego included!

I took my sister for her birthday this year (both of us BIG animal fans, especially felines) having bought her the Meet a Cheetah experience. Upon arrival we decided to make the most of our visit and bought behind the scenes passes for the sun bears as well (I was devastated to find out the red pandas were sold out for the weekend).

We hadn't been there very long when we heard roaring and we took off in search of the noise. That was the start of a day filled with big cats! I didnt realise until we were listening to the keeper talk at the lions that we could feed and have photos taken with various animals for the bargain price of $20.

There's so much more to see than we expected, and after planning our day around meeting various animals we ran out of time to visit the aquarium! Not that we don't have every intention of returning in the near future so there'll be time to see all the water dwelling critters then.

Aside from the thrill of getting up close and personal with such amazing animals, it's also wonderful that all the profit goes back to the animals and their welfare.

There are also zoo volunteers wandering around all day and they are a wealth of knowledge that you can tap into, so don't be shy, if you've got a question - or 50 - ask away!

This is a MUST DO so stick it on your bucket list :)

My Partner bought me a Meet a Cheetah experience for my birthday this year. I loved it and recommend to anyone. All the entry fees and the costs of the experience go back into the animals and the zoo. Its is money worth spent. We also did the zoo adventure which saw us up close and personal with giraffes, lions, bears, ottors, dingoes, and many other amazing animals.

Next year we will be doing it all again and I will become a member or friend of the zoo. It is amazing and something all children should see

A pretty big zoo in Canberra - with some amazing animals. They have some awesome experiences such as 'meet a cheetah', and we also got to 'feed the bear', which involved having a large amount of honey swiped on your hand and then putting your hand against the cage bars and the bear would lick the honey right off. The aquarium is really fun too, and they have lots of souvenirs to choose from.

My kids love this place. We have been to a lot of zoos and this one is great. It is easy to walk around, there are lots of easy-to-see animals and plenty of rest stops.

We had our work Christmas party at the zoo a few weeks ago and it was such an amazing experience. I hadn't been to the zoo for years and looking back I don't know why...

We basically had a "zooventure tour" where you get to have a European Brown Bear lick some very tasty mush off your hand, feed some meat to the tigers, pat the dingoes, feed carrots to the giraffes, and then feed some more meat to the lions.
The keeper that was guiding our group was really friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions (and there were lots!)

Then to top off the evening we had a buffet dinner (supplied by an external caterer) on the big cat walk. We were surrounded on three sides by the lions that started roaring as soon as the sun started to set.

Throughout the evening the keepers brought out a python, and a baby alligator for us to meet and pat (if you were brave enough)

It was a very surreal experience and one I would thoroughly recommend if you are thinking of holding a function.
