4 reviews about NLC

I wish I had read previous reviews prior to signing up.
I had a great experience with Sales (Gary is my only positive about NLC).
Waited 7 months for the car (covid, chip shortage etc). Finally get the confirmation from Toyota that my car is ready and they had advised a date I could pick it up, however they were waiting confirmation of settlement from NLC.

Toyota had been trying to get in touch with NLC for days via email and phone, did not hear back. After asking my sales contact for help, someone from NLC Deliveries finally reached out.

Usual procedure is customers are contact approx 30 days prior to delivery (Toyota had notified NLC ~3 weeks before my car was due to be delivered it was on the way) to sort out paperwork and finalise contract.
I find out the hard way that none of this had been done, and was requested to complete the paperwork.

I had stupidly agreed to the tint and ceramic package through NLC when I first signed up to the package - was this booked by NLC a couple of weeks ago? No.

My car will be sitting at the dealership ready for pick up, for approx 2 weeks due to NLC's incomptence.
This issue had been escalated to the Dealership Team Lead, who has been quick to action my issue, however advised NLC would provide a compensation of $150 for this stuff up.. that won't even cover a full tank of fuel!

After speaking to people at my company that also went through NLC, it appears their service and (in)competence has been a common issue. I would like to see NLC address their process and people issues, however it does not appear to be a priority.

Don't recommend - at this stage I do not want to deal with NLC further and wish I had just bought the vehicle with cash!

1) complex opaque process
2) changing people to talk to
3) lots and lots of paper work
4) promise more than tney deliver
5) required a generic debit permission just in case they need to charge you at the end of lease - no protections around them charging you and not in the contract as a requirement''
6) required to give consent to direct marketing by anyone or any organisation involved in supply or no lease
7) Trade advantage for trade in offered approximately a third of the redbook trade in price
8) don't understand about covid lockdown
9) once trade in in their hands, car suddenly has $2000 of hail damage. When picked up it didn't. Exterior was reasonably good for a 12 year old car.

NLC has hands down been the worst experience I have EVER had with a company.
The sales pitch sounded great - everything seemed fine and nothing seemed like an issue. Once the contract was signed however everything changed.
Immediately my car was going to take an extra 2 months on top of what I was told it would be (just days earlier). I then had to endure NLC sending out wrong paperwork, stuffing around me (and my employer) and being told flat out lies when I asked questions and what was going on. Due to all this I had my car ready at a dealership for weeks with me unable to pick it up.
When I was able to collect it I was missing the accessories ordered (which I was told on the day would be sorted).
Three weeks later (and constant emails to NLC) I’m still no closer to receiving the accessories i ordered and am paying for.
I’m now forced to take it to the Office of Fair Trading.
Consider my experience as a huge warning…Do NOT deal with NLC!!!

I got a few quotes from fleet companies to lease my new vehicle. NLC was one of a couple that had an arrangement with my company so I could also salary sacrifice.

Unlike many other companies that seemed to think that providing information about the cost of the car was some sort of great secret, NLC placed it up front so I was able to tell if I could source it cheaper or not. They were also forthcomming with the term and conditions (something else other fleet companies seemed determined to hide until they made a sale)

NLC also broke down the cost of the lease into things like Rego, maintence, feul, adminstration etc so I could see what they have factored in for each item. This made it really easy for me to taylor it and remove some things that i did not need.
Other companies only gave me a total figure and getting detail from them was like pulling teeth.

Finally NLC took care of lodging the paperwork with my employer and with the dealer I had negotiated the price with. The car arrived in my driveway the next morning.

Overall a very satisfying experience and renewed my faith in fleet companies (after a couple of bad experiences)
