i love chinese bakeries and chinese cakes and pastries and this bakery is definitely number 1 in chinatown, a real gem
the steamed buns in particular are very tasty, nice and fluffy and full of flavour.
while i agree it's hard to get a good pie from an asian bakehouse, you can't beat their cakes in general, and this business is one of the best

while i was in chinatown i went into no.1 bakery the variety of cakes or buns with beancurd i tried one it was nice but i wouldnt eat it every day they had buns with custard which i loved it reminded me of bangkok bakerys

Average prices for asian buns but still a great place to drop by for a snack or a treat! The buns and fresh and it is best when you get the new batch- nice and warm on a cold day!

It's a Chinese Bakery, with heaps of different types of breads, either savory or sweet. It has very good value but their cakes have too much cream but everything else is great!
