If you love peking duck, Old Cathay is a must-visit. They do 3 lovely courses of peking duck - peking duck skin wraps, stir-fried noodles with duck and a duck soup. DELICIOUS - we order it every time we come. They have peking duck specials on some weeknights so best check before heading down. Their other chinese dishes are also very delicious, great quality and we have never been disappointed here. The decor of the place sets the scene nicely for a chinese feast. Advisable to make reservations ahead of time. If you love chinese food, this might well become your new favourite restaurant.

A table of 10 of us dined here for lunch. For ease of ordering, we opted for the banquet menu. There were a few banquet options but we decided on the $318 per table of 10 pax menu that came with Peking Duck. It was delicious. The banquet menu also came with a pantagonian tooth fish in soy sauce, salted egg yolk king prawn (my favourite although a few didn't like it), beef in XO sauce, crispy chicken (I didn't try this as I didn't feel like chicken with bones that day but everyone else liked it) vege, sang choy bao, soup, dessert. I thought it was good value and we left satisfied. The place was pretty full during lunch as they serve lunch specials.

My only beef with this place is the parking. I parked my car in the underground carpark. But bear in mind that the only public bays (free but only 2P) are in the central cluster. The others are reserved for Monadelphous and other offices in that building. Oh, and the entrance to the building seem to be by Shepperton Road (I couldn't figure out how to enter the building compound via Albany Highway).

I would recommend it but perhaps dinner time will be easier to park. Good food. Better than most chinese places.

Approximate cost: $20

Thank you for your Review. town of victoria park has put in pay parking, it's now a lot easier to get parking. yes there is a 2 hour parking in the middle of the undercroft car parks. After business hours, it's a lot easier as you can park freely inside. don't forget the parking outside is 30mins, not that it's much used if you are dinning. Lastly you are welcome to ask us to debone your chicken :) . as for getting into the place, yes it's hard to get it, you have to enter at the honday causway, but i always tell our customer to plot into your gps or google map 8 oswald street.
