Great place for the family! Completely family oriented. So much for everyone to do. Our 4 year old loved the jungle climbing gym. The free kids club is a huge bonus and the rooms are a great price. The pool area is great too.

There's a saying, "happy wife, happy life" well the wife will be happy at Paradise Resort as the kids will be truly truly happy.

If your child loves the water, this is truly a wonderland. The entrance has a jungle gym which will can keep the kids 3-12 easily amused. There is also two major Kids Group activities (10-2) and (4-8pm) to look after the kids aged 0-2 and 3-12. Now my boy was 3 and being the youngest in the larger group was a little too much for him, as the activities in the evening were catered for kids 6-12 I reckon. But we got him out after 2hrs and that was long enough for him, he didn't really enjoy it and we never went back. But they are great for the older ones and can give the parents up to 4hrs off.

Our boy just loved the water slides and pool. We spent a large part of the day at the resort, with him playing on the slides or in the pool. Being 3 years old a parent was close by, the entire time, I would suggest at about 6 they could be left alone.

The beach is only 100m walk away. With the Centre of the Gold Coast two bus stops away ($4.80 for adult be warned) easy walk in the evening. A bit hot and long during the day.

We weren't planning too, but ate at the resort for breakfast and lunch. Nothing over priced and more than reasonable for Australia and compared to the Gold Coast area. I don't think there are enough healthy choices for the kids, but otherwise a great variety of food at reasonable prices.

Issues : Reception, it took us 1½hrs to check in. Luckily there was a jungle gym to play on, otherwise I think my boy would be a 'little' bored. Other inquires always took over 30mins to wait and be served, with honestly an hour being the average for the 5 times I had to visit reception.

Also the checkout bill is generalized I am still disputing 3 items on the bill, but it's hard to chase up when it just says breakfast on this date $45 - rather than who had what. But you can almost accept this given all the plus's throughout the resort.

I haven't even mentioned the Ice Rink or many of the other activities that the resort offers, like movie night.

Recommendation : Do not upgrade the room as it may give you a pool view, but this just puts you closer to the noise. Weren't much bigger or better than the standard room.

The highlight of Paradise Resort is the free kids club and in that department they certainly don't disappoint, the kids love it! The waterpark and kids activities are also very good and keep the kids entertained. However if you don't get a renovated room like us, the place is certainly dated and in need of a bit of an overhaul. For approx $350 which we were paying, admittedly over Easter, I certainly expected more from the room than a faulty shower, visible signs of damage and wear and old beds. That being said it is still a great place to get away for a few nights and for parents to escape their children for a while.

Approximate cost: $300

We were able to get a special deal price during the low season. Perfect spot for those holidaying with kids but I wouldn't recommend it for couples or singles. Plenty of activities, complementary kids club sessions and 2 water park areas. The highlight for me was the huge adults only spa which was bliss. We found all the staff to be friendly and the meals at the restaurant/cafe onsite where quite good. On the downside, the rooms are a bit tired and the bathtub needed a good clean. They also charge $40 per hour for late checkout which was a bit steep considering it was low season.

My husband, my daughter and I recently went for a family holiday to the gold coast and my husbands family came along too with all his niece's and nephews. We had quite a few kids between us so my sister in law thought that the paradise resort seemed like a good child friendly choice so she booked it for us for a few days. We all had our own individual rooms per family, but we stayed on the same floor and area of the building. However for those who do want to all bunk in together if you have a big group, they do have some joint rooms available where there is a shared door in between two separate rooms so you can pop in and out and see each other, two of our families had one of these kind of rooms which they found handy. The rooms themselves where clean and quite satisfactory, the towels were always collected and changed promptly while we were out for the day, and there was a decent tv in our room which we could watch from the bed and I think there was a couple of foxtel channels on it if I recall correctly. The rooms had a high-tech swipe card instead of a key and everyone was required to wear these wrist band things that we were issued by reception when in all the common areas like the pool etc, I think it was mostly to do with safety for children so people who aren't staying there can't wander in so that was a good idea. This place was great for the kids, they loved playing in the pool, on the play equipment and also the other water play equipment with one of those big bucket things which spray the water. There was also a spa area for the parents which was nice and relaxing, you can watch your kids on the water play equipment from where the spa is located so that was handy as it can get boring for parents otherwise! There is a cafe near the pool too and a bar with cocktails so there is everything that you could want here really. My daughter and her cousins really enjoyed it here and they even liked the food at the cafe and restaurant even though they are all fussy eaters, as it was quite kid friendly. There was a kids club childcare in the resort too, and the package we brought included a couple of sessions of kids club but unfortunately we didn't get time to book in as we had too much other stuff organised, but I checked out the activities in the kids club and they looked like they would have been fun. If I go there again I will use the club next time. My only problem that I encountered while staying there was that the wing of the bulding we were staying at was not very conveniently accessed from the outside car park at the back of the building where we were parked, I found myself getting lost and walking quite a fair way up and down different lifts and around in circles trying to find my room almost every time I went downstairs to the pool or to go to the car. They could do with some clearer signage and more straight forward maps on the walls pointing where to go when navigating your way around the resort, as it really is huge and a lot of the corridors look the same! We also had some trouble locating one of those trolley things which you wheel your bags to your room with. Thankfully though when I was lost and having troubles with my bags on a few occasions some staff notices I was having troubles and gave me directions to my room and help with my bags without me asking so that was nice.

I stayed here back in June with my two year old son, I found this experience very enjoyble, the staff were so helpful, my son actually broke something and I thought we would have to pay the bill, but they said not to worry and got a cleaner starlight up to clean it, the room blocked out sound so it relived alot of stress of hearing the other people, so my son could sleep, there was arts and crafts, it was so close to everything,, they staff were great when it came to trying to arrange a day out, sorted out the pick up and drop of for transport, I really recommend this hotel for a family wanting a great time, also they have a daycare play centre so it gives the parents time to relax

We were bitterly disappointed with Paradise Resort, despite heairng great things. We spent 4 nights there, and were charged $290 a night, so we were expecting real quality. Unfortunately, our room was old, run down and in need of some repair work and a jolly good clean. We were grateful we got a room facing the road, as the pool side rooms would have been horrendous wiht the noise coming from screaming kids all day! This of course, is the focus of Paradise Resort, the kids, and why you book. The water park equipment was good, but the pool and hot tub were nasty water quality wise, and as adults, unless you want to jump in with tons of kids, it might not be your thing. I guess we expected alot more pool !! The food was good the couple of times we ate there, but the service in the resturant was terrible, as were the wait times for breakfast in the morning- we only bothered the once- especially when you have kids waiting too. If a water playground is the deciding factor on your family holiday, then go there, if you want a bit a quality for all the family, and even a bit of peace without kids runing down the halls screaming at all hours, then perhaps you may want to consider somewhere else. All in all, we were terribly disappointed, especially considering how much it cost.

Approximate cost: $290
