This is our local tavern and we love coming here for a meal. Sundays are popular as they often have a face painter and jumping castle for the kids. During the week they often have meal deals which you can find on their website. There is a kids area with outdoor play equipment (all fenced in). Meals are delicious and reasonably priced. A wonderful setting for a great night out.

we made a last minute decision to come here for Friday night dinner.
well parking was easy as the car park is huge. 5 people in front of us in line ,place looks busy.we were seated over by the large windows looking out over the water. lovely night lights from houses and boats. menu is overly large, literally its like a newspaper page. staff are lovely and friendly. Chairs were really nice and comfy. decor is bright, tables big.
we ordered rump steak and veg and the fishermans basket and 2 drinks and garlic bread ,ended up around $70. steaks are in the $26-32 mark
drinks came in 5 mins, my lemon lime and bitters could have been colder. garlic bread came in ten minutes and was lovely and hot and buttery, we thought a great start to the meal.
well 15 minutes later our meals arrived.
mine was overly cooked and very very burnt, I mean if the cook won't eat it what makes you think I am?
the prawns were crumbed and burnt ,i took a bite and chewed and chewed, trying to the find any sight of a prawn. My partner asked will he take it back?
I looked for the fish, found 2 brown fingers of fish on the bottom of the sea scallops which I gave to my partner because I don 't like them .
so 2 fingers of fish, luke warm chewy calamari fingers overdone again, the batter on everything was thicker than the food it covered. 3 crumbed brown prawns, and a salad of shredded beet and carrot with a sliver of onion and a very limited amount of creamy tasteless dressing. I gave up and said to one of the staff look this is really burnt and not nice, she was lovely and said she will take it back to the kitchen and asked would we like complimentary drinks whilst we waited. so we took her up on that offer. in the meantime my partner got through his very black on one side steak but was cooked to his liking ok, on a bed of mash and beans and broccoli. and gravy
10 min later a new plate of food came out for me. looking much paler and more appetising. pity it wasn't the case. I ate it because I was hungry . not quite sure if the seafood was fresh or boxed but i was leaning towards boxed, the prawn cutlets were overly crumbed and made a mess with each bite. very tiny prawn covered in a mass of crumb. they need to cook fresh seafood and nothing had a taste really. coriander in the salad makes it hard to eat and get into ones mouth .i personally dislike that in a salad.
salad wasn't much with a couple of tiny leaves of different lettuce and 2 small wedges of tasteless tomato. things would need to have improved for me to return. Friday nights kids eats free I think. place is lovely and clean and roomy. lots of people there but not overly crowded. my second drink was far better than the first too. lots of different things on the menu, chicken dishes, beef, salads ,pizzas . have a try though if you are around the area .you may get something better than what I had. open for lunch as well. views are lovely from the deck

I made a booking for lunch the day before, asking for a table by the window. On arrival, no record of a booking. I had one of their featured steaks, and it was very disappointing to say the least. The rubbish leafy salad accompanying the meal made the cost of the meal ($34) too prohibitive. I won't be going back there again as there is better value elsewhere.

Approximate cost: $34

This place overlooks at the beautiful water, with the options of dining inside or outside. For dinner, my friends ordered I ordered a calamari dish which was freshly cooked in a nice light salt and pepper batter. I ordered the Guinness Grazier's pie with mashed potato & pies as my main meal. Unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy the sauce inside, so I was just picking out the meat in the pie. My friend's steak was burnt on the outside so she only have half of it.

Your description of the food was pretty awful and not what one expects and yet you rate it as good.

We dropped in to the Pelican Waters Tavern last weekend for lunch, we were just there for a short time and wanted something quick and cheap, so we all ordered chips or wedges. They were cooked to perfection. The serving staff were really quick and friendly. We had a drink each too. The view over the water was nice and a caloundra cruise boat was tied up outside as the cruise starts and ends here. It is a very handy location, as we stopped and did the grocery shopping at the shopping centre next door after lunch.

I have been here only the one time and it was the best meal I had eaten in a very long time. The food was great. The toilets were well maintained and it was peaceful looking over the water. Totally recommend!!
