Authentic italian pasta for a great price. The coffee is always on-point and sitting in the kitchen is always a good experience as you get to witness the chefs in action (and yelling at each other!). Very friendly staff and I love the granitas. Highly recommend the gnocchi - if it isn't sold out by the time you get there.

Love this place in Bourke Street. Its been an institution in Melbourne for as far back as I can remember. Its great to sit at the counter and eat their spagetti - which I may add tastes so original - its great. They make the best coffee in Melbourne. You will often see some famous faces there because its where all the people 'in the know' go.

I have been here a couple of times and love to sit in the kitchen. I love that i get to experience a restaurant like this & kind of how they do things from the kitchen. The waiters & cooks are always great to chat with and the food is always pleasant a great place for an italian meal

Every food lover in Melbourne should visit Pellegrini's at least once in their lifetime. But Its really all about the history and the atmosphere. The food is ok and the staff are a little rude. Its supposed to be like that but the highlight is the place itself. I've been told that It hasn't changed for years. Its a rare piece of Melbourne old school and It's really worth a visit!

As expected, this place serves one of the best tasting coffees in Melbourne. It's a great place for quick meals, not so much for catching up with friends and gossiping though. Sometimes I felt slightly rushed as if they are trying to get me out of there quickly, especially on weekends.

Its a Melbourne icon and every so often when I am in the city I stop for a quick coffee break here.

I love it! Each time I have had my latte is made perfectly, the milk is warm enough and the coffee is just right!

Ok... Just like homemade, so nothing to grand. Lacking a bit of taste too! However great coffee and atmosphere make up for everything! You may have to wait for a seat but once your seated food comes out right away.

Approximate cost: $20

You can expect an unpretentious, good-old fashioned home-cooked wholesome meal. The pasta here is great. I love the retro interior.

A real institution. The food is retro, so some gourmands may not find it up to speed. Can't beat the history, location, and you never know who may wander past. Still worth a visit. A true local!
