I had a session with Karen to deal with childhood trauma that caused a lot of anxiety, particularly when trying to get to sleep at night. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was such a gentle and calming experience and has been extremely effective. I no longer experience flashbacks at night and have been able to drift off to sleep with ease for the first time in my life, and I no longer feel like a victim, which has been so liberating. I would highly recommend!

I have been attending Karen's General/Beginners yoga class for almost 2 years now after initially attending her Mindfulness course. Karen's gentle guidance and support in a smaller class setting is ideal for my needs. I would thoroughly recommend PBL to anyone wanting to give gentle yoga and mindfulness a go.

I’ve been going to Karen’s general yoga class the last couple of years; I very much look forward to my weekly yoga classes, I enjoy learning from her vast knowledge and love of yoga, One of the main reasons I like to keep regular with classes, is for the spiritual benefit I get from Karen’s meditation and approach to her classes.
Her classes help to calm me down, reduce my stress levels and help me to face the rest of the week with and optimistic outlook. Thanks Karen.

I attended the Mindfulness meditation retreat today and was not dissappointed. Karen imparted the concepts of Acceptance and Committment therapy and how our default , autopolot system affects our behaviours and attitudes and how we can challenge and change these autopilot behaviours. Karen lead us through the process to become aware of our Vision, mission, purpose and values. Throughout the day we had the opportunity to experience many types of mindfulness meditation.
We were also forunate enough to have Emma explain the health of the digestive system and how this can be improved through diet & reducing stress. The meals created by Emma were not only nutritious but really tasty.
Thank to both Karen & Emma a very enlightening and motivating day in an inspiring environment

I have been coming to Yoga with Karen for a couple of years now. I love the studio and the beautiful sounds of the birds outside while we practise our Yoga. I love what I am learning. Karen has such insight and understanding from meditation to mindfulness. She is always right there to guide you and support you. I thoroughly recommend Perfectly Balanced Life and Karen.

It's hard to express in words how the simple act of tentatively attending my first ever real yoga class around 7 years ago has turned into a cornerstone of my world. For this, I have Karen to thank, I would say profusely. A gentle nudge in the right direction saw me trekking 20 minutes to what is a stunning venue, and in my opinion, more than worth the drive. But yoga isn't just a venue with an ever changing view of the Dandenongs, and the rising moon.

Karen's yoga instruction works for me. It's why I keep going back, often twice a week where possible. The ability to match a deep understanding of the body, and hence tailor asanas (postures) individually as required, along with meditation and breathing exercises, opens your yoga practice into the true level of a well rounded yogi. Yoga is a very personal practice, where you are encouraged to be mindful and present in your body. This is where Karen's broader skills in mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and even her reconnection healing capabilities all blend and meld into some of the most transformational savasana experiences. And yes, Karen's classes start with savasana, to allow you to drop all the baggage you wanted to lug along in your mind, but which really doesn't seem necessary after some quality time on the yoga mat.

If you have an interest in reconnection healing, I have had several profound sessions, and received crucial messages... Even if it took me a while to truly get the hint and start a regular meditation practice myself. Even there Karen has had the perfectly balanced advice to deliver at just the right time to keep me growing in my experience of life.

I count myself lucky to have met Karen... You might like to give yourself that gift too!

This yoga studio is a welcoming and nurturing environment for everyone from the complete beginner on wards. enjoyable fun classes in a non-competitive, non-judgmental environment with friendly and caring teachers and students. And all that in a fantastic venue at the best price I have found in the local area :-)

I've been coming to Karen's classes for almost 6 years now. I love that her classes are small and that she is able to help you personally to make sure you are doing the pose correctly. It's set in a beautiful studio, and as soon as I walk in I can feel the stresses of the day drop away. I love it!
