Good cheap tasty Vietnamese food, I think they may specialize in noodle soups as most of the customers seemed to have a bowl. You may have to wait for a table as its very busy, but you are in and out pretty quick. You put in your order, they deliver to table, and they dont come near you again to see if you want sweets , drinks or anything.

I have been eating here for 15 years. I used to live in Melbourne, and still go back to Mekong for some fresh beef Pho every time I'm in town.

I've tried so, so so many vietnamese pho noodle restaurants, because it is one of my favourite foods of all time. This place does the very, very best. I miss it when I am back home in Adelaide!

You will always find Mekong Restaurant filled with customers, and rightly so. This place makes delicious Pho and their rice paper rolls are delicious; the complimentary tea is a nice touch.
The Mekong restaurant can be very crowded and sometimes you may be have to sit wherever there is room, this means sharing tables if necessary.
The food comes out very quickly. Don't expect to develop a rapport with you wait staff, they are too busy for that.

We have eaten here numerous times because it is quick, cheap and delicious.

Since coming back from Vietnam it's been hard to find a place that recreates the Pho I had in Hanoi. This place comes pretty close! The BBQ chicken soup is my favourite, the stock has so much flavour and the prices are so reasonable! Fabulous comfort food

This used to be my fave place to go for pho but lately the quality of food has been disappointing. Few weeks ago I was craving pho and decided to go to Mekong because we couldn't be bothered to drive all the way to victoria street (the pho heaven). I ordered Chicken special pho which was supposed to come with a boiled unborn egg yolk. Guess what I got instead? A fully born raw egg, placed on top of the noodles. The soup was not hot enough and didn't cook the eggs. I ended up with a bowl of slimy soup with the raw egg swimming around. I felt so disgusted and complained to the waiter. The waiter told us they didn't have the unborn egg yolks so the kitchen decided to give us a raw egg instead. We were not offered replacement soup and still had to pay full price.

Average Pho - could do with more noodles for the price and the raw beef was clumped together. If you don't mind the place is a bit dirty - a cockroach appeared at one stage on the side of a friend's bowl and disappeared.

Best Pho noodle soup in the whole Melbourne. I have tried many many Vietnamese noodle shop at Victoria st, springvale etc, so far Mekong has been my favourite. They are always busy especially at lunch and dinner time so can be hard to find seats during those times.
