The waiters were not so friendly, the food was alright.

After spending the week dining in some of Melbourne's best restaurants, I was happy to find this great cafe in Berwick. The best coffee I have had in years, with the bonus of sitting by the fire and looking out at the park. Really great service and the food was divine. A good selection of wines by the glass too. Well worth the drive for a day out. Primary @ Pioneers Park, Berwick.
I love this place as it has a great playground next to the cafe for the children. I recently went here for breakfast & although the place was packed I thought the staff were very friendly & helpful with menu suggestions & the service was great. This place is always my first choice for breakfast as the surroundings are great & I can relax & enjoy my coffee while my child plays.

the people that run this place are so rude!!!!! this is not a family friendly cafe even though it has the perfect setting for children the service is poor the food is VERY VERY ordinary do yourself a favour and avoid it
I love this place. My kids enjoyed it too as it has a playground just next to the outside eating area.
The decor is gorgeous and the food was delicious. The staff were really nice and even made an effort to communicate with my kids, this was comforting as many cafes don't really appreciate kids.
My girlfriend and i will definitely be back.
I have visited this place frequently because it has a playpark where kids can play while you have lunch/coffee etc.
I have decided this year to boycott The Primary. Not because of the food which is okay and some cases, really nice.
The service is appalling. The manager has a very condescending attitude and I find him very rude at times. There are also a couple of very surly waitresses particularly the short-haired pregnant woman. She always looks dirty and everything is always too much trouble for her.
I have lost count of the times when they keep taking things from your table because it's obvious they want rid of you.
The service is also very slow even if you say you're in a hurry.

I work there and have done so since March of this year... None of the people mentioned in your comment work there anymore and we've been told by a lot of customers how much better it's become since the new manager has taken over. I really recommend you come down and give it another shot because I honestly think we have some of the greatest service, coffee and food that Berwick has to offer.

Visit regularly for coffee often up to 4 times per week, carrot cake is delicious.
Lovely little cafe in an old converted schoolhouse. Nice range of food, especially for breakfast (try the toasted banana bread with marscapone and honey - delicious!)
Berwick Primary and pioneer park, what a setting and the meals are light but hardy. Set amongst a very nice park with childrens play equipment to take the tension out of eating.

Always great service! Always busy, which is a good sign! Nice atmosphere, and good value good quality meals. The chai lattes and cuppachino's are always spot on. And the meals aren't too big. Meals are always fresh.
