Where do I start is it the fact that they are now outsourcing their claims department to a third party who are incompetent. Or the fact they can't even organise a tow truck after a claim. Or is it the fact that when they finally organise a tow truck they send two different companies on the same day. Or is it that they made me stay home for a day and miss out on income and not even pick up my vehicle. Or is it the fact that when you call their claims department and ask to speak to a manager that they advise that they do not have a manager. Or is it that when you ask to be put through to the complaints department that you get a message bank service. Or is the frustration and angst and anxiety from what should be a simple claims process.

As a silver member and spending well over $1000 a month with RACV I would expect some type of service and they have definitely not shown this.

You have not only lost my business you have lost my partners, parents and children's business and my ill words about your company. Sad times for Racv.

Best Insurance company around! I'm
middle aged & can easily go for something cheaper but I don't!! Why? Because if you want the best service you need to also pay for it. People are willing to stay with a company that truly does brilliant service!! I am one of them ! I had my window smashed & straight away it was professionally repaired & covered for! This is service!! Hands down!! RACV have been around for many years & this is one major reason why.

Horrible to deal with. I had a burst pipe and my claim got denied. They send out assessor's and crap engineers who write reports which are full of absolute lies and they just write what RACV want to hear. AVOID AVOID they are the worst insurance ever.

Dreadful claim process. Long wait for phone when claiming then unhelpful with different answers each time. Stressful experience when claiming.

If you are thinking of joining RACV do yourself a favor good people and DO NOT. Once you submit your claim everything they do will not be in your favor, to the point they will call you a liar. Their assessors are arrogant and rude.
Join anyone except RACV.

Another driver disobeyed a stop sign and hit my car with such force, I traversed 4 lanes of Princes Hwy in Oakleigh (Melbourne) before I regained control of the vehicle a month ago. Thankfully I didn't hit anyone, and my car protected me from all but a whiplash. The other driver's acts after the accident suggested he was uninsured. I called the RACV as my insurer still in a shock from the accident. The RACV gave me such good treatment from the first phone call to sending me the cheque for the totalled car, I cannot stop telling everyone how truly valued I have felt throughout this process. I have received all the information I needed, when I needed the information, I was listened to, and I felt that every member of the RACV team that I interacted with cared about me. Thank you RACV! My new car will be insured with the RACV all over again.

I am having a bad experience with RACV landlord insurance. I have initiated a claim for a damaged sower basin 3 months ago and every time I call to enquire about this, a new consultant speak with me and says they have no idea why this has been delayed. First the builders went in and checked the damaged shower basin, and when I called RACV they said the builders have not properly stated that the basins are damaged through out the entire thickness. This was told to me more than 2 months later after i initiated the claim, and I gave calls to RACV many times after that and the response I get from consultants is that they tried to call builders but didn't get reports and things like that and all the consultants say they have no idea why previous consultants whom I spoke with didn't take this and that action. It seems RACV consultant have no idea what they are doing and they are passing the ball to who ever spoke before and after 3 months the claim is still at the initial stage. this is really disappointing outcome. the leak detection proved that it is leaking water from the damaged shower base and I am waiting eagerly to repair the basins but holding it because I do not get a proper outcome from the insurance. The consultants kept telling me they have so much claims to handle so they sometimes miss things, which is a very disappointing statement to hear after paying the insurance fees on time. The consultants seem to even look at the files of the claim after I call them and ask about it. I do not recommend RACV for any one after this experience.

As a long standing member of RACV, I expected more when I was in a collision in April 2022. Two whole weeks after my car was taken to the repairer I called the repairer to confirm the status of the repairs, expecting them to be almost complete. Instead I was told that repairs hadn’t commenced yet as RACV were yet to approve the quote. I then called RACV and after waiting on hold for over an hour they told me it “must have been missed” and that it would be approved that day. Two weeks later when the repairer told me my car was repaired and ready for collection I called RACV to arrange a payment plan for my excess. I was told to do this at this stage by two people from RACV, both when I called to report the accident and when I called to follow up on approval of the repairs quote. Again, after waiting on hold for an hour, I was told it was “too late” to arrange a payment plan as the repairs were completed, and the payment plan should have been organised prior. The lady I spoke to was extremely rude and condescending, and offered no empathy for the situation RACV had put me in - having to come up with the excess myself within the day in order to collect my car. I told her I was so disappointed that I wanted to cancel my insurance and roadside assistance with RACV and she did not hesitate to put me through to another department to do so. The person in the department also offered zero support or mediation and seemed quite happy to say bye bye to a long standing member. Utterly terrible service and communication. Not impressed.

Recent damage to house in Melbourne storms in November. Would never use RACV Insurance again. Difficult to deal with is understatement and tried to blame house maintenance to avoid paying. The storm had 127 kms winds and uprooted 100 year old pines everywhere…..
