Great family run local restaurant, honest Italian food.... Amanda, Carnegie
Great service, authentic Italian food just like Lygon St. Great scotch and coke mix, nice and potent. Love this place. Classic Italian vibe.

Love this place. Food is always yummy. Do have to say though that i went to go for a coffee with my two sons and there were three staff members sitting out the front at the tables all smoking. My son has asthma so we just turned around and went back to the car. Not a good look guys.
great pizzas here- cooked to perfection! your get real proper italian pizza when you go here! staff are really nice and friendly and happy to help or have a chat.
Great pizzeria. The pasta comes in large portions and the pizzas are crispy, with lots of cheese on top. I like the Formaggio pizza and I loved it even more when I tried it the way they prepare it here.
Wonderful Italian food in a cosy atmosphere. Great family restaurant with a very "local" feel to it. Our whole family loves it and we only regret that we did not know about this gem before. The servings are very generous, especially the famous meatballs. The veal scallopini is to die for. The only dish that I did not like too much (although still OK) was Pizza Alla Nona: most of the ingredients are salty to begin with so altogether I found the dish too salty. But could be just me...
I am privileged to have Remezzo as my 'local'. The staff (when eating in) is always accommodating and the restaurant is very family-friendly. The delivery and takeaway are equally good - quick, delicious and well-priced. Pizza is really good. Pastas and Tapas are also better than average.
Remezzo is a busy (and often noisy) neighbourhood restaurant I have visited numerous times, that has a broadly mediterranean menu including Italian, Greek and Spanish style dishes, with an interesting tapas (smaller snacks) menu including goats cheese fritters and arancini balls (delicious, both $9.90). There are pizzas on the menu (including thin base) - I didn't like the "gourmet range" (from $11 to $19.50), much preferring the regular (and cheaper) offerings ($7.50 - $18, Vegetarian and Capricciosa are the favourites in my family). On the pasta menu, my favourite is the (not striclty pasta) Gnocchi Pumpkin - lovely light gnocchi in a creamy spinach and pumpkin sauce ($14.50). Of the mains on offer, the Chicken Parma is my family's favourite, while the grilled lamb cutlets with lemonata potatoes always brings complaints - that there isn't more! When you first enter Remezzo one thing you can't miss are the outrageously large platters of the house specialities that are carried regularly to appreciative tables - Loukmades (doughnuts in syrup) and Churros (long piped doughnuts wth a chocolate sauce) ($9 each). You should definitely try these, they are really delicious - even if only once! On a couple of visits our food was a bit slow coming (made worse by the appearance of aforesaid huge fragrant plates of doughnuts at other tables) but the service and atmosphere is friendly and homely (if your home includes about 40 people talking loudly). There is also a free delivery service in the local area for orders over $20 on the nights you prefer to stay cocooned at home.
Wow. What a review. You covered it all
We Have visited twice here.have been ordering pizza. I love the pizza here. The perfect place to take visitors to Melbourne. The food is good, the service was bright efficient and friendly and the cost reasonable.
Just thought I'd drop you a line to say thanks for sharing your experience.
My boyfriend and I went there for dinner tonight (Thursday). We were greeted by the manager with a smile and immediately seated. I had made a reservation just to make sure, and it was good that I did because the place was packed.
The manager was our waiter and he gave us sufficient time to read and choose the meal we want. And it was only about 15 minutes until we were given our meal. Which was really prompt and we were pretty impressed.
I ordered the Linguine Carbonara which was really creamy and rich. The portion was decently sized and very well presented. However, I found it a little too rich and hard to finish. Otherwise, very, very nice.
My boyfriend ordered the Porterhouse Steak with peppercorn sauce. He said it was generously sized and the salad and chips that came with it was a nice extra. He also said the sauce was lovely but a little too rich for his liking. The salad came with balsamic vinegar and wasn't offered any other kind of dressing. A little more chips would have been nice.
Overall, this place was lovely, the service was great and it was reasonably priced. It was a little loud which made it hard to have a conversation but we dealt with it. A very nice night out.
9/10

Thanks for writing such an informative review! We will try it out.
After hearing so many good things about Remezzo, I finally got around to dining there for the first time a few weeks ago. I went with a work colleague on a Friday after work. We didn't have a booking, which would have been a problem because they were booked solid (a good sign!!!) but they had a table available outside which was lucky (it's fairly loud and crowded inside when it's full).
The food was delicious. The portion sizes are HUGE and the pasta dishes are simple but flavoursome. I had the Linguini di Mare, which was absolutely delicious and packed full of seafood. Definitely no skimping on the prawns and mussels! I could barely finish it but I forced myself to because it was just that delicious. We shared a dessert pizza afterwards (even though we were both full, we just had to be greedy!) and it was OK (I probably didn't enjoy it as much because I was already full). However, the food was fabulous and overall we had a great time. The staff never rushed us and the weather was warm and balmy so we enjoyed sitting outside.
A couple of weeks later, when my husband asked me where I wanted to go for my family birthday dinner with the in-laws, I was still raving about Remezzo so insisted we go there. He booked a table for eight of us. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The place was very loud and crowded (it was a Saturday night) so that took away from the atmosphere a little. The food was still amazing. Huge portions. We all had the dips platter as a starter and they gave us extra bread when we ran out. It was a little odd having actual rolls with the dips (instead of turkish or pita bread) but the dips were delish regardless. I had the duck risotto for main, which was great, the rice was cooked perfectly, beautiful flavours. I was lucky to finish half the dish, and took the rest home in a doggy bag for later. Everyone had pizza and/or pasta and there were smiles and full tummies all around.
My main advice would be BOOK IN ADVANCE!!! Every time I walk past in the evening it's always full, so book ahead lest you be disappointed when you get turned away.
Also, watch where you park. My sister-in-law got a parking ticket late on the Saturday night because she parked in a permit zone on a side street without realising it.
Logistics aside, you'll have a great time at Remezzo and you definitely WON'T leave hungry!
The food was great and the serves were large. It is great value for money. The service was quite good.
Approximate cost: $15-$20
The food was delicious , great tapas for sharing.
The service was ok - a little bit rushed though.
Approximate cost: $20
Went there last night & has a really great time. Food was lovely & the service very efficient. Parking ok on side streets
this is, hands down, the best pizza in the area. my partner and i always order one large garlic and one primavera pizza, and delivery is always prompt. the pizzas come to us hot and delicious. i would recommend remezzo to anyone.
Been a couple of times, always busy. Excellent food. Definately worth a visit. Yes I would go again, not one out of the box that excites me as much as others.
Approximate cost: $20
This place was recommended to me by a friend and at first I was suspicious thinking it was just another pizza restaurant. How wrong I was, the food is superb and extremely well priced. I don't know of anywhere else in a ten kilometre radius where you can buy a steak for under $21. The food is excellent, main courses are around $18 and there tapas menu is superb. The staff are friendly without being familiar and can intelligently discuss the menu with you. This restaurant is a MUST if you live in the area.
Approximate cost: $18
Good selection of Tapas, and dining atmosphere is cozy, perfect if you want to have a small gathering of friends.
I love this place, like service, especially this great food! usually take away the margarita pizza and it's so delicious!...
we have only dined in once, but it was great. we love the home delivery, the pizzas are brilliant, and the pasta to die for.... yummmm
Approximate cost: $15
It does not matter if we dine in or have home delivery the food is just as great , real soul food fro those who are "asianed out" I can live with out coriander but not Remezzo
Approximate cost: $17
Great news, if you cannot get to Remezzo or feel like staying they now do home delivery. Service is great food just the same as the restaurant and much quicker than any other home delivery I have ever used
Approximate cost: $20
Remezzo was recommended to us, has good vibe, and is a nice venue, with excellent food at a good price. However we felt rushed to finish and vacate the table, and the service was well below expectations - won't be going back. Disappointed.
Approximate cost: $20
I used to live close to Remezzo and I couldnt help myself going there at least twice a week!! They have the best pizza and pasta I have ever eaten in my own life. Which makes me going bak even i live far now. The price is very reasonable and the atmosphere there is not bad for a gathering. It is always busy so must book in for a seat!!!! Best restaurant!!
Approximate cost: $20
REMEZZO IS USUALLY VERY BUSY SO BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. THE FOOD IS HONEST AND GOOD, AND THE PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE. LOVELY FRIENDLY STAFF. I HAD A GRILLED SALMON AND IT WAS DIVINE. PASTAS ARE DELICIOUS AS ARE THE TAPAS
Approximate cost: $17
Remezzo make really excellent, authentic Italian pizzas. The service is great and it has a lovely atmosphere. Prices are fairly reasonable too given the quality of the food.
Approximate cost: $15
WOW!! I came across this place through a recommendation from a friend when I mentioned I was looking for somewhere to have a Christmas break up for approx. 40 cackling women (and 1 husband???). She said if I wanted good food I should try Remezzo. She wasn't wrong, the food was fabulous!! The best pizza I have ever had! I tried the traditional Italian Calabrese pizza and it was amazing. Not overdone with toppings, just beautiful ingredients on a lovely thin base. Everyone else I quizzed loved their food as well - not a complaint in sight. The only problem we had was the ambience - or lack of. I understand that with a large group there will probably always be a problem with volume, but the noise was there to begin with - even before all our group had arrived. I don't think it's a problem that can't be rectified - just something on the walls to dull the echo. That said, it wasn't so bad that it ruined our experience, maybe just something to keep in mind if you are planning to go there for an intimate dinner. The staff were happy and obliging which is rare when having to deal with a large group dinner. Friendly staff and top notch food. Fantastic!! And they also do take away!!
