I found them to be good.especially there surrender provention team and vet..although I didn't fit into program criteria I was thankfull they helped me.they looked my dog over .did some tests.and his lumps weren't cancer they gave me some advice and meds for dog arthritis.which was all free..the most spun out thing from when I went to rspca burwood.was walking passed all peeps that work there vaping outside. The smoke that go in there stomach and blow out there mouth is like indian pow wow.. seriously incredible.and made my dog sneeze his head off when we walked passed..it really stinks.if U do go there try park at front entrance not around the side car park you'll get smoked out.

I have been using the RSPCA vet services for over 10 years now for our three pets and the service has always been excellent. However, the care and compassion provided by the vet Samatha iand staff came to the fore when we recently had to euthanise our little rescue dog Jemma - it's probably one of the toughest and also kindest things we can do for our pets when it's time, the attention we received made this so much easier. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Been looking to give a dog a loving home for the last few months, driving to lost dog kennels, including RCPCA. Every time we enquire they always state, there as already been 30 or more enquires, or must have children or stay at home owners or must come in pairs or already have a dog at home.

Then you go back two weeks later and the dog is still there without a home. Not sure what is actually going on in these places, but it sound all suspect to me, maybe there is a loyalty factor.

When I ask they then give us a run down on how to treat a dog, well I have been a dog owner longer than some of these people have been involved with dogs. We have lots of love to give, dog door, enclosed garden and no restrictions in the house for the dogs, as well as two walks a day, if that is not good enough what is? Not going to bother with such places.

To many rules and restrictions, but they will then give it to a home, who send the dog back to weeks later, all based on poor profiling.

Approximate cost: $0

So disappointing Ive just had the same experiencewhats their agenda? I have no idea. Ive had 4 rescued Female Kelpies over near 3o years, each had a healthy long life, I have a large garden with high secure fencing, and yet I was not suitable to adopt a 2yr old female kelpie because it would be too traumatic for this young dog.

I use the vet clinic here often. In my opinion the vet and vet nurses are lovely but some questions they can't even answer about my pets. I asked the vet nurse on risks for rabbit surgery and she wasn't sure. I also took a litter of baby rabbits in for a check up and the vet had to get someone else that could tell the gender as she wasn't able to. The vet clinic offers concession discount which was fantastic.

ANIMAL LOVERS (ESPECIALLY DOG OWNERS) MAKE SURE TO PRINT A DOG TAG INSTRUCTING THE FINDER NOT TO TAKE YOUR LOST PET TO THE RSPCA. On the other side of the dog tag print... "REWARD offered to finder for returning to owner directly".

The RSPCA in Burwood is a grubby money making business that lives off an emotional public to pay for their new state of the art work facilities and juicy wages while the animals live in the same conditions they were living in 20 years ago (before the flash, state of the art buildings were constructed). That's right! the animals don't live upstairs in the big new blue and white building. They still reside on the ground level - in the basement.

Kind and caring members of the public NOTE: It's against the law for a pet owner to lose their pet (like they do it on purpose?). So, when you hand a lost pet into the RSPCA (thinking you are doing the right thing) you are in fact, putting that animal's future in jeopardy.

Pensioners, the working poor and people who are unwell or incapacitated desperately need and love their pet. But often, simply cannot afford the $$$ HEFTY $$$ release fees that the RSPCA charge.

The RSPCA charge flat fees regardless of whether you (well intended member of the public) or the council dog catcher surrenders the animal over to them.

The RSPCA then slap on their own extortionate cut regardless of the length of time the lost animal is in their care. And, this is all in spite of the owner doing the right thing (registering/desexing etc.).

IF THE OWNER CAN'T PAY THE FULL RELEASE FEE UP FRONT - THEY CANNOT GET THEIR PET BACK!

IT"S ALL ABOUT THE DOLLARS - SHAME SHAME SHAME!

Approximate cost: $125

We went to look at a dog to adopt at Epping RSPCA that we found on their website but ended up adopting another that had just come in. She is a fox terrier and she was a stray from Bendigo. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The girl Monique spent hours with us, explaining and helping us get the basics for our dog. Our nearest RSPCA is Burwood East & but the staff there were not very helpful or friendly. We will buy all our stuff for the dog from the RSPCA as we want to give them our business. We are very happy with our Pixel as she is called & couldn't have asked for a better first time pet dog. She is just perfect!

Have been taking my new dog here, they are far cheaper than the other vet I had been using, however they are often not easy to get thru on the phone and often have to wait past my appointment time.

My family went to the RSPCA to look for a dog and even though we didn't buy one on the day the people there were very thorough in telling us the prices, what the dogs were like and all the in's and out's.

All the dogs that are at the RSPCA have been desexed, and microchipped. Dogs that are over are certain age are a bit cheaper to adopt. Neverless most of the dogs are cute!

Approximate cost: $btw $295 and $310

I am hoping to adopt a dog in the next couple of weeks. Will have to look at this RSPCA for myself because the staff sound like they know what they're talking about.

Great help for sick and injured animals. they have a wonderful adoption service and friendly staff. The vets there are great and they are reasonably priced. The are one of the best pet care facilities i've ever been to.
