Worst experience of my life

Pretending to listen to our needs but couldn't care less, couldn't even get the bath right. Constantly changing drawings telling us it's all fine but ended up costing us thousands of dollars more for their incompetent staff. The only reason I took the house was because my rental was too high and we had nowhere else to live, if I'd have had the cash I'd have kept renting and took them to court.
They destroyed our dreams and took our money and couldn't care less. The "builders" are obviously still learning as the overall quality is something a labourer would do.
Caught staff filming my children and had to check their phones and kick them out, the police had to come out too.
People quit some got fired and multiple staff hung up, on handover day we was supposed to have photos of the home and a great first day but the guy just handed me the keys completely embarrassed and said "sorry".
He quit too as he was so embarrassed by what they'd done to us, I highly recommend you avoid these at all costs!
Honestly the whole experience was the worst of my life and even the guys high up couldn't give a toss because on page 39 sub section b there's tiny writing that helps them get out of everything but if you don't sign you ain't got a builder and lose the deposit!
If you need any real information about these clowns message me and I'll send all the evidence because believe me they'll try to cover this up!

Poor service and don’t care
Bought a house recently that Simonds built, house is only five or so years old. It has many sliding doors and we noticed they have no caps on the vertical panels… So lots of bugs n spiders get in n live inside the panels. Contacted previous owner to see where caps were n they said there weren’t any ever.
Contacted Simonds to get some caps, as there’s a 7 year warranty and after care of course.
Very hard to get a person on phone with Simonds and really hard to find a number. Eventually got a few people and it took forever for them to finally say they’d do nothing and as it’s not a major issue or structural, it’s not under warranty!
How pathetic n ridiculous! No service at all and not following the 7 year warranty at all, can’t find where it says they’ll not replace selected things they don’t want to pay for!
Will certainly let everyone I know n people in my networks to never use Simonds!
Stay away from Simonds!

Don't recommend, complaint process is a joke, they have no power or contact to do any negiotiation basically a switchboard to put the issues to your site supervisor or crc which you already spoken too.

No customer service, if it's in the contract thats where there care stops, not able to work with the customer.

Really dissapointing, will be glad to be rid of them.

Wouldn’t even give one star.
Our house was initially getting ready last year and it’s still not settled yet. Endless delays and mistakes. Numerous lies and excuses. We are mentally suffered from this experience. This is the worst decision ever.

We are building a 17 square home with Simonds, our slab and frame stage was completed by the 17th of September, and 5 months later we are still waiting for handover. They have no sense of urgency and have come up with excuse after excuse as to why it is taking so abnormally long. “Timber shortage” was an excuse used even though timber is used for our frame stage and roof trusses which was completed by mid September, so the following FIVE MONTHS post frame stage has been a mess. We have had to change our move date, our end of lease date and furniture delivery/gas/internet everything multiple times as they keep delaying. It will be 6 months between frame stage and our move date, all up almost 8 months, for the smallest house they offer!!

Do not build with these guys. They failed to install a plaster panel for the bathroom. Our brand new house had water leaking through the doorways into the cupboards below. They admitted the fault and did nothing. We are still having plumbing issues thanks to this, no matter how often we get it fixed. The grout has had to be replaced many times. The house, now over a decade old, creaks on the second floor and cracks have started appearing in the walls and floors. Absolute shitshow. Do not waste your precious money on them

Purchased Simonds home 5 years old. Had foul odor in main bathroom shower for over a year called Yarra Valley water, all water good, bought a new washing machine and threw all my bath towels away. Paid my plumber $260 to do camera test, then contacted Simonds homes to help find problem. They sent a plumber who made up stories, he put a rubber grate seal to stop smell which I wasn’t happy about & did not fix problem, 2 months later they sent drain specialist who found & removed 60mm of grout which would have been there since house was built, he said this was the main reason for the smell. This issue cost me stress & over $1,200 but I only asked John Coulter & Chris Zammit from South Morang for $260 refund for plumbing & a written Report stating the smell was caused by grouting, they refused both and didn’t care about the grouting and denied it. Other issues with house after 5 years had to regrout 2 showers & replace 2 shower screens because of the low grade grouting which rusted the bottom of the shower screens, shower rose replaced, holes in garage concrete 4” long, all towel & toilet roll fixtures loose, had to replace hot water service, carpet underlay badly installed, kitchen sink had to be regrouted, above stove shelf had to be tiled. Low grade grouting used throughout the whole house makes flooring hard to clean, needs to be regrouted. 10 year warranty doesn’t mean a thing don’t trust them. 5 year old house has cost me thousands.

Worse customer service, worse management, worse build still having issues with house post 1 year of moving. Simonds will come up with any excuse to brush off the issue and please please please read the contract they give you very clearly as they do not take responsibility of anything. Only team they have good is sales team and they are good at selling and will show you the finest things in their display homes but what you get in the end is 100 below that level.
