His ethical practise is outstanding in an industry that is not always easy to navigate who to trust. The decor of the studio is cosy and relaxing. During my preparation for my honours in Jazz (Monash) I used this recording studio to record my set, initially for demos and practise and then with session musicians for an EP. Steve, the owner/producer/engineer, is not just a highly skilled musician and sound engineer, he also manages to create such a creative, warm and inspiring atmosphere in this studio in the Dandenongs. It was like recording in a retreat. Feasible, with access to high end session musicians, Steve has supplied the goods for all my musical, creative and human needs. (Yes, thanks for the litres of coffee, juice and the ton of bickies ;). I'll be back.

I have known Steve since 2010.He was the first engineer/producer that I'd worked with,so it was all a bit new for me.I need not have worried, as Steve, after much cutting, pasting and session playing by him,took my rough demo's and turned them into great sounding tracks.
I have since recorded a number of times with Steve and every time I do,it's professional but also hugely enjoyable as well. He has sourced top quality session muso's for me at the drop off a hat and often gives much needed advice as to song structure,chords and special effects.

Besides which,he's a champion fellow-down to earth, easy going and very switched on.

We recorded a full album of original songs, just released under the name 'Hucster'; the recording was done last Dec/Jan/Feb. Steve was involved with production and played some keyboard parts too. The whole project was first rate, with the result being better than excellent. Steve is one of the most knowledgeable engineers I have ever met, and his studio set up (particularly the drum room :)) is fantastic. I couldn't recommend Steve or his studio more highly to anyone contemplating any recording project!

Once again I was able to work with Steve in recording my original song, it was again excellently mixed and I was very happy in the way it turned out. He is so enjoyable to work with because he understands what you have to say and makes valid inputs where needed. Last week I took my two woodwind ensembles to Soggy Dog studios to be recorded. This was their first experience in recording I was very impressed with the proficient yet relaxed atmosphere for the players.
The recording studio's set up was top class with the best equipment to help produce a fine CD.
Nothing was too much trouble to explain, go over, or re-record when necessary. The students were able to play their music with confidence knowing that in such a comfortable setting there was no need to feel insecure. This enabled them to really enjoy the experience and gain valuable insight to preparing for future recording sessions.
The efficiency by Steve and the first class recording equipment and environment meant that every minute was productive resulting in great value both financially and finished product.
As an experienced musician and teacher I would highly recommend Soggy Dog Recording Studio to any musician or group wanting a professional recording.

Needing a recording studio for a wedding song I wrote, I stumbled across Soggy Dog via a Google search. Steve provided state-of-the-art equipment and top-notch engineering. I was blown away by his personal attention and professional detail. I quickly realized this wasn't my project – but our project. My guitar-playing brother – over from the states – knows sound engineering, knows audio, knows the nitty gritty technical aspects and really respects others who do. His respect for Steve was limitless. We walked away so thankful we had the opportunity to record at Soggy Dog – and simply cannot thank Steve enough.

Session to record tracks and produce original song for brother's wedding ceremony. I traveled from USA to record this with my brother. Steve was very hospitable to us and provided a comfortable and relaxing environment for us to share our music. He was able to provide me with a choice of several acoustic guitars, I chose one with a beautiful sound that happened to be built by a friend. Microphone selection, equipment, and technique was masterful, as the audio quality experienced during recording, playback, and the finished product was outstanding. Definitely a highlight of my visit to Australia!

Steve is an amazing producer and very fun and easy to work with. Highly recommended! I recorded a 4 track solo cd with Steve and am stoked with the results. I have a Neil Diamond tribute show were I tell Neil's story and play acoustic renditions of his songs. We are currently recording a Country/Rock/Synth album at Soggy Dog. Our requirements are quite extensive as we generate midi tracks and wave files off site for inclusion in each song. We then record live bass, rhythm guitars and vocals in the studio. Steve manipulates all of these parts and formats to produce the final song.

The sessions with Steve have been professional and well organized. Steve is a highly skilled sound engineer with a friendly, relaxed manor that makes the recording experience enjoyable. We are very pleased with the high standard of work and the quality of the sound he produces.

Steve is also a capable and experoenced musician is his own right with a great ear for pich. We have used many of his suggestions on instrument selection and riffs on our tracks.
