I made a point of going on a market day for my first trip to Southbank Brisbane. Loved the atmosphere of the area and the layout of the market mixed with sitting areas and cafes.

I found the goods in the stalls a little out of my price range for the most part, but I am a bargain hunter and probably not in the mood for the exclusive range of lovely things before me on the day.

Definitely would go again, probably as early as possible to avoid the mid morning / lunch crowds.

I don't go to these markets very often but when I do I am never disappointed. There is a great range of stalls, the stall owners are very friendly and I always find something unique to buy

Fantastic place for a weekend trip to the city and for some shopping of unique items. Very non mainstream its a great place also to take visitors and combine it with lunch and admire the views of the river. I have bought really great handmade bags there both times and have been really happy with my purchases.

Approximate cost: $20

These markets are different to the norm, because it is. Ade up of stalls run by incredibly creative people. Lots of different clothes designed by locals and artists showing their wares. I love that they've closed off Stanley St to make way for more stall and makes room for those with prams. Stop and have a coffee at one of the trillion coffee shops or have some lunch at Southbank afterwards and you have found the perfect wy to spend a Sunday in Brisbane.

Approximate cost: $20
