A friend told me of this place, after I bought a baby rabbit off of her. I didn't even know it was there. The prices were amazing. I had been buying hay from the supermarket pet section, which was quite expensive. This stock food yard sells meadow hay by the biscuit for $2.50. And its bedding as well as feed. Making it easier for storage. Rabbit meal can be bought by the kilo and is $5.00. All up I bought all my bits and pieces for less than $15.00. It was far cheaper than the supermarket. They even gave my girls a booklet "Bunny Business" that they had written themselves on how to care for your bunny. They were very helpful, and have certainly got me as a lifetime customer.

As a family, we have a LOT of pets - and therefore have a LOT of pet needs. We have found Southern Stock Foods to be friendly and approachable. They seem to stock anything we need pet wise - from bulk pet food (rabbit, chook, cat, dog, bird, etc), bales of straw, insects and even snake food! In one trip, we can grab all the bulk stuff we need and their prices are spot on! We really struggled finding "farm animal needs" close to home before we discovered Southern Stock Foods

They are also always up for a chat which is really nice in today's rush-rush attitude.

Add in the drive through service (literally! you drive through the shed!) and I can avoid the inevitable chasing-after-toddler-while-holding-baby scenario and I also get the heavy bulk bags and bales plonked straight in the boot!

Finished with a view of chooks and birds and the kids are happy as well.

Love shopping there, SO glad we found it!!

High recommend!
