It is not often I have come across such awful food. The chips were so over cooked as to have no potato inside them, the batter on the fish was tough, the scallops tasted like they were from a can, as well as the batter being tough. I get that shops blanch everything that has batter as it saves time, but after sitting around for an hour or two it comes out tough, not crispy and light, tough. Chips that are cooked for too long in oil that is too hot come out empty, good looking, but empty. The service was good, polite and prompt, but I will not be back. Despite good reviews, I find that Ballarat fish and chip shops blanch everything before needed, and it comes out tough, not just this store, EVERY SINGLE SHOP I TRIED IN BALLARAT=TOUGH BATTER AND OVER COOKED CHIPS. I" going back to keebabs... at least I very rarely get as disappointed with keebab shops as I have been getting with fish and chip shops. It's a simple bleeding spud, cook it properly!

Love Steves fish shop! The staff are really friendly, they are generous with their sizes (compared to other stores), Hamburgers are the best, and they have real home made chippies! Loving the decor here too!

Just delicious our regular fish n chips great value great staff very clean environment so good to see handcut chippies..highly recommended gets very busy so save time and ring your order through.

been here a few times now and alway get a bargin on food here and the hamburgers are great as well from here nice neat clean shop with very friendly staff and fast as well loved my burger and wife loved her fish so 2 happy customers great fish and chip shop

Lovely workers and I really enjoyed my food from here.

I love fish and chip shops and this one is wonderful. The chips always taste as thought they've been cooked in clean oil, which is a blessing!
