We got quote on 2 sections of glass pool fencing and suggested modifications to one existing section.
Price was fine and the job completed well and truly to our satisfaction.

Hi Zac and Andrew and Karen and Darren
I just wanted to tell you all how happy I am with my new fence, and thank you all for your outstanding service. And Andrew, although you teased me about my chickens..... I must say you really do have a great product and a wonderful bunch of workers (who all deserve a big fat Christmas bonus even though it is only June - that comment should go some way to getting back for the chicken jokes that came my way!!!!!!!). Without Zack’s perseverance and patience, I simply would have no fence!!!! Karen followed through with the technicalities and Darren (whose email I don’t have so please pass this on to him also) made sure all the dimensions were aesthetically pleasing......... and as you can see from the photo....... it is a neat and tidy installation job, very pleasing to the eye; and you cannot tell that the panels facing the street compensate for a slight slope!!!! In fact, I have had to point out to people that this photo is actually of a double gate, not fence panels!!!

Thanks.
Cheers,
Lisa R

On the whole, my fence and gates look good and work fine. But I'll be seeking another business when I get another fence done. SFG charge a premium price but I wasn't happy with their service.

Three issues in particular are worth noting:
1) Communication of schedule changes was very poor. My neighbour and I both phoned about the absence of the installer only to find the work had been rescheduled. This is most annoying when one has taken time off work to be at home. And this wasn't the only scheduling incident.

2) Upon 'completion' of the work I found my Colorbond gates retained water indefinitely (the bottom tracks did not drain). Upon complaining I was informed that was the design which seems ridiculous to me. Not only would the gates rust in short order but I'd have a mosquito breeding area and algae growth. I plan to remedy the issue with a few small drill holes that would have been quite simple for them to do. Ultimately I didn't want them doing work reluctantly so I didn't press them.

3) Beware light coloured fences that might catch the afternoon sun; they light up like a bright roof would at midday. An expert fence builder should know this and warn clients when choosing fence colour. I now have a blindingly bright fence facing my patio most afternoons.

In future I'll look for smaller businesses where I deal directly with the installer him/herself.

The worst Customer Service I have ever received. It took us a couple of weeks just to get a quote, then over a month for them to start on three gates. After over another month, three no shows without a call from them and a case of two of three gates not being the correct size we finely have them installed. Good product, not cheap but just so much trouble that I could never recommend them to anyone.

I would not recommend this fence company. I spent $14,000 on a timber
Fence for a 600sq m block.

The front fence is falling apart, timber splitting and curling.

Lots of excuses from the company..from not painting it immediately , to my soil, but they never admit to the building defects....

Had to get the company out 3 times, eventually escalated problems with the management of the company who was a bully, arguing with me on the street.

A 2ft retaining wall had to be built and after 3 years it was falling apart, it wasn't even screwed in correctly and I had to get them out to fix.

Power tools were used by the builders at 530 am, told them to stop until 7 but they continued...

The only good thing from them was they supplied ample temp fencing for my dog for the duration of the build...but that's pretty basic to organise..

Approximate cost: $14

I had a short fence to repair, and I wanted to match an existing fence put up by a previous owner. Tim was excellent and was able to order the fence components, and have them delivered. I did the job myself, and everything was included - it made it so simple. I would recommend talking to these guys if you are doing any sort of fencing job at home!

Approximate cost: $700
