Cheap and delicious sushi. There's always line at lunch time but the line moves fast. All the sushi are made fresh- you can see the older gentleman standing there calmly making sushi.

Small shop, huge queues during lunch time! I found the sushi rolls quite good value 3 handrolls plus miso soup for $6.80. Quality is reasonable, but I would say the price point is the main drawcard.

I really like the fast service and top quality food for a great price! The daily lunch hour queue pretty much sums up this place: good value, fresh, and friendly.
If you want more than just sushi rolls ($2.50), the bento boxes are about $8.80 or $9.80 depending on the meat - great value for a surprisingly large meal. The quality is quite good thanks to the large volume sold.

If you want to eat sushi rolls (sushi wrapped with seaweed), then this is the best place to eat them in Melbourne city. Cheap, fresh, and delicious. Do not order separate because it will cost you more. Order as a set with miso soup. You can choose 2 rolls with miso soup for $5 or 3 rolls with miso soup for $6.80. If you dig for spicy food, then try the spicy fresh salmon roll. I also love the tempura roll and the fresh salmon roll non spicy version. The miso soup is not that great but hey they come free with the set so no complaint. They always very busy throughout lunch time (sushi is very popular dish here apparently) so expect waiting time of 15 minutes approximately. If you could come early before 12 then you don't need to wait. Don't bother with the hot food. If you want to eat cheap hot cooked Japanese meal nearby, you don't have to go far; Tokio is just right next door and offer better hot food. In fact, I might review Tokio after this one. Back to sushi monger, great place to eat sushi rolls and certainly the best one I could find in Melbourne and very cheap too!! Service is okay, they always busy so don't expect them to pamper you.

Best sushi in town, and cheap too. Only $6.80 will get you 3 sushi rolls and a miso soup. The sushi rolls are always fresh and yummy. My favorites are the spicy salmon, king prawn and tempura prawns. The line at lunch time is always long, but I noticed if I go before 12:30 PM the line usually is shorter and moves quickly.

I would have to say this is the best sushi shop in Melbourne. as soon as you walk in the door, the smell is delicious (they also cook other warm meals) The sushi is always so fresh and it's cheep too. 3 sushi rolls and a miso soup for $6.80. Or two rolls and miso is $5.
