We've been getting Food Garden deliveries for 7yrs now We love the organic/biodynamic produce, the amazing flavour and nutrients and the option to buy seconds to make it more affordable (juicing apples/carrots, mushrooms). We love their affordable local honey too It's convenient to have several pick up points for deliveries for those of us way out of town that can't get delivery to the door. The website is easy to use and love the photos of all the products. Our kids have been growing up on this produce from quite young and find it hard if we are on holidays and can't buy organic as they find fruit and veggies bland, not juicy and taste like chemicals compared to Food Garden's wonderful produce. We have huge respect for those hardworking organic and biodynamic farmers out there that FG source from

The Food Garden is a great way to buy organic, seasonal and local veggies. It's so convenient and easy to order online. There's a pretty good range of additional groceries available as well as the fruit and veg (and I just noticed, now even stocking toilet paper!)
Any time I've made a request or inquiry, the response has been prompt and friendly.
I agree with some of the other reviews that it's a great way to learn and try new vegetables that you might not see in the supermarket, eg kohlrabi. But also the flexibility of being able to order or exclude specific veggies is very handy.

I love receiving my Mixed Food Box each Friday, it is such a surprise to see what fruits and vegetables will arrive at my front door, and saves shopping with three kids. I have been making all sorts of new recipes, like roasted beetroot, pumpkin and fennel salad, due to the fact that I dont want to waste anything from my food box. It is a great way to cook with what is in season and experiment with different vegetables that you may not normally buy.

We're a professional couple who love our food! Every week for the last few months now we've been getting a foodbox from the Food Garden and I don't think we could ever go back to regular grocery shopping. We get the "couples" box and often we'll add a few little extra things too (bread, nuts etc), the range is fantastic.
We never run out of food and in fact we've learnt how to use a whole lot of veggies we had never tried before, as there are often little tips and recipes included on the back of the invoice that are perfect for some extra inspiration.
That said, the regular veggies are in there too in good proportions - potatoes and carrots and broccoli- whatever's in season- and the quality is terrific.
I find that we've reduced waste significantly because psychologically I can't bear throwing out good organic veggies... so we always find a use for them!
It's worth every penny (in fact we're saving money on groceries).

I have been ordering produce for a couple of years now (I think) for the Food Garden. Everything arrives promptly once per week and the produce is excellent quality. I can change my order at any time so it really suits my family and our changing needs and wants. My large family really enjoys the quality of everything. I can't believe how long stuff now stays fresh in the fridge. Supermarket produce goes 'yuck' so quickly.

We have been getting a weekly box from the Food Garden for nearly six months and couldn't be happier. The fruit and veg is always really fresh - keep well over the week and often longer - and is always heaps for two adult vegetarians - and that's the small box! We have also noticed how much more fruit we are eating and generally how much better and more simply we are eating; we base our meals around seasonal availability of veg now. Every contact we have with the Food Garden is personal and friendly, and always helpful.

Such fresh, top quality organic fruit and veggies, we are so lucky to have you in our town. No wilting sad looking specimens in this shop. You walk in to be greeted by friendly, down to earth, helpful people, surrounded by such an amazing abundance of gorgeous food. Heaps of locally grown produce, dry goods, excellent bread, they even make great coffee! I love being able to change what I want in my weekly box depending on what we have in our garden, and to suit my budget. Thank you Graham and Caithlin. The freshness and quality are nothing you could ever find in a store. I love opening my box and feeling confident that what I get will always look likes it's literally just come out of the ground or off a tree. Consistent and reliable service as well. This is one excellent business that others have much to learn from!!

I have been buying produce from The Food Garden for the last few months, the fruit and veg last extremely well and taste delicious. The service (by phone or email) is personal, home delivery to Ballarat on time and seasonal variety excellent. I have transformed my cooking now to seasonal and have tried several new foods that I would not have used otherwise.

I am very happy with The Food Garden food boxes - I can't think of one thing to criticise! They are easy to order online, you can use different payment methods, the assortment of fruit and veg is good and of a good amount (we get a couple box), and they always tastes much better than anything I can buy in a store. I also love that the produce lasts at LEAST two weeks, so there is no stress to use a particular thing during that same week. To top it off, customer service is always great. You definitely don't feel like a "number". I get home delivery and I am very happy with that - no need to go to the store.

Tried several other organic deliveries in the Ballarat area, The food garden by far have the best quality products every week without fail. They always strive to ensure customers are 100% happy, only had one tiny stuff up in one whole year of deliveries from them and it was very quickly rectified and money returned. Great for vegetable gardeners too because they allow you to select a "No" list of foods when ordering a mixed choice box, so you don't end up with food your already growing. Love the fact that you can also choose to make up your own box with food you choose if you prefer not to have a mixed choice box made for you. Especially like the online ordering as it helps me budget better and choose the foods that are in season and therefore cheaper (prices are listed clearly). Love the good old fashioned, honest and friendly service they offer and delicious fresh organic food. My kids eagerly wait for when "the organic man" comes and dive straight into the box for fresh fruit :)

The Food Garden has totally transformed our eating. My family loves the food boxes and they are fantastic value for money giving you a constant variety of seasonal organic produce. I always feel good about the meals I prepare now because I know I am using great quality organic food. To top the whole Food Garden experience off is the beautiful service that you receive whenever you walk in there. I love it!!

Each delivered box of Victorian produce has been just the inspiration I need
to make myself fresh, nourishing food. Cooking for yourself can become humdrum
but with the lovely produce you supply I can enjoy something novel and this is good.

It is good to know the items are grown in Victoria.

I love the food garden. We work fulltime in Melbourne so coming home to find our box of local organic fruit and veg is great. We try to eat local to reduce our carbon footprint and the foodgarden makes it so easy. The value for money is fantastic, so much great food for the two of us in the couples pack.

Graeme and Bree have great produce and their service is faultless. We would be without good quality organic produce without their delivery to Maldon. Ordering online is easy even for me!

Love it. Veggies always last a long long time. Very friendly and flexible. Emails tell us what is coming and what else you can get. Also email to get orders of produce to dehydrate which always works well.

This service is great, food quality is excellent and origin of food is clear. Healthy and fresh, with variety to select from. I sometime get a box and get the surprise on delivery day, other times I choose what I want.

After hearing from a few friends about the Food Garden home deliveries, we decided to give them a try, in the interests of spending less on impulse purchases at the supermarket.

Man, we got more than we bargained for! Our food box was great quality, locally grown fruit and vegetables and plenty of variety. We got the couples box because our kids are still very little and we it's just the right size. It was also home delivered for a very small fee.
