After my disappointment at a local cafes' lack of meat meal I desired, I went here for my steak fix and I definitely was not disappointed. My porterhouse steak was perfect, it went down well with a well deserved german beer. The waitresses were very friendly and had my steak ready in 20 minutes. I had been here before and tried their german sausages, but needed steak on the occasion.

Hahndorf certainly is the place to go if you are in need of some German food and this is one of the places we frequent quite often, especially if we have family over from interstate. My husband always enjoys trying the German beers and I just love their cheese kranskys and bratwurst snaggs. My husband ususally has the mixed grill or scotch fillet steak - always cooked to perfection. Our only issue with the meals has been that they are huge and I have never been able to finish mine. So you have to make sure you have an empty stomach when you go here. The menu is quite large, they don't just serve german meals they do the usual pub favourites as well like fish and chips, steak and of course schnitzels. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Most of the meals are quite expensive, the cheapest being around $25. They also serve breakfast, which is great for the tourists staying nearby.

Approximate cost: $25+

Little German town in the middle of Adelaide. Nice and touristy with taste food. I ordered a 1 liter beer, after I finished I could barely walk. The food portions here are massive so make sure you go with someone that can stomach the food. I was pretty much done when I was half way through my beer. Could barely fit anymore food in. The food and beer is pricey but consider the atmosphere and the friendly staff, once in a while doesn't hurt :)

Approximate cost: $exp

The serving sizes here are huge, I have never been able to finish any of my meals here.

Sounds like a good place to try when I am up that way.

Lots of German beer. Can I stop the review here?? :0p

There's good food also and it's usually packed out with various Asians looking to frequent a good establishment. The prices I think are a bit steep, but the serving sizes are large and it's one of the only places around Adelaide that you can get this type of food.

Approximate cost: $higher

If your after quality german food then this is your place. Everytime i come to hahndorf i always stop here. The food tastes amazing and will certainly fill you up. Nothing more perfect than on a hot summers day sitting down to a great german feed and a german beer to go with it.

We went their last weekend with 4 friends. We thought the restaurant will be busy since it's good weather so we made a booking in advance. But when we got there, they said there is no record of any booking made by us. Luckily we were able to find a table outside. Food was really, big quantity as well. A little pricey but hey it's Hahndorf… Good experience overall.

Approximate cost: $25

My first venture to this amazing German pub was New Years Eve 1999 and 13.5 years later it is still as amazing and friendly as it was then. We had the German Meat Platter for 2 for lunch and OMG it was protein overload :) It was well worth the money and well worth the experience even if we couldn't eat again till late that night.

Approximate cost: $25

My mouth is just watering thinking about eating here again.

Love Hahndorf, you have to drink schnapps, eat sausage, choose mustards and relish variety.

Great people, great service - can spend a few hours here before taking a wander in the historic German township and continue on with the Adelaide Hills / Barossa Valley wine trails...

Recommended - it is epic!
