I would recommend Lost dogs Home in Nth Melbourne to anybody wanting to adopt a cat or a dog. The animals are looked after well and loved , also reasonable prices, and the animals are well looked after and loved until their adoption.

I bout a maultese today. Male 9 years old male . I suffer with a disease and I have found my best friend to keep me company. I feel like a new person and am so happy to have my new companion since I stay at home a lot. I'm really hoping toffee will get me out more to go for walks etc. the staff were great and very helpful. Not pushy and answers any questions I needed to know. I had asked for a dog for years but hubby never wanted one. As soon as he saw me they were in love. My husband also bought the dog for my rehabilitation as animals can help humans especially when they are sick. So thanx to hubby and the rest of the staff. I feel like a new person. Oh by the way he is sooooo happy and we all get along very well.

The only experience I've had with them is going to take a friend to pick a new mate, and they really took the time to ensure the one she left with would be a perfect fit. They found her a small one who wont need much excercise because she's not wanting to go on long walks, a timid little guy who would be a perfect friend for her 4 year old too. Was very happy with the service, price of dog and the training tips too

eally nice guys. They definitely need more support from the public. They were really accommodating when I brought in a lost dog that I found in the area. They managed to find it's owner. They have cheap veterinary services so it's perfect for when you're on a budget.

They also have volunteers which is really rewarding.

We didn't actually end up leaving with a dog as there wasn't one suitable for our apartment on the day we went. However, I was very impressed with the knowledge and expertise of the staff. They took the time to explain each dogs' requirements to us - they were honest about what each dog required in an owner, and tactfully pointed out where our suitability didn't match up. They also were able to recommend what types of dogs would best suit us, how best to keep an eye out and secure our future dream dog when they became available at the shelter. These guys are responsible, clearly care about what they're doing and are friendly and professional. I wish pet shops were like this!

I got my pup from here and have had to unfortunately take her back to the vet a few times. Although you see a different vet each time each of them have been excellent. The service is great, you can call and talk over your concenrs before deciding whether to take your animal in.

Best vet clinic - and linked to a great cause. I bought my dog from the lost dogs home and always use their vet services. Really great vets.

My son and I had been looking for a cat, and decided we would get one from a shelter, I had been searching for a couple of weeks (as he wanted a burmese like his grandmothers), and instead came across a gorgeous ragdoll on their website. The staff were very friendly, helpful and thorough, and the facilities were clean and tidy. Unfortunately Romeo (our newest family member) had picked up cat flu and had to go back a couple of days later for a free vet visit (standard one week free visit), a course of antibiotics later, and we are very happy with our beautiful new pet.
We have also took Romeo back there for his 3 month vaccination. The vet checked him over at the same time and will be taking him back there next year.

i recently adopted a pointer from the lost dogs home, and i found the staff to be very helpful. in the price of the dog i got a one on one with the dog trainer which i did 2 weeks after I got him, witch in it self was very good helped me get to know some basic training. i have since been back to the vets to get his next vaccination, they were busy but still friendly.

I have been to the lost dogs home on many occassions to adopt a dog. I have chosen dogs I want to adopt, only to have my offer of a loving home rejected and the dog euthanised. This happened many years ago and recently as well. From a german shepherd I wanted to adopt but was told she was too skinny, she was euthanised. Then there was a little maltese boy who was very matted, he was euthanised also, I cried for days. A little pom girl who I put my name down for was also euthanised even though I offered to provide her with all and any vet care she may require, too old I was told. I found these experiences heartbreaking.

We have been to the Lost dogs on two occasions. Firstly to pick up the kitten we adopted and then to get one for my mum. On both occasions the people working there are very helpful, very honest in regards to the state and nature of the animal and totally professional. Total care is taken in the process of selecting a pet and also letting you know the facts of petcare and of the particular pet you are taking. They are friendly and caring and you can tell they genuinly care for these animals.

Approximate cost: $70+

The people that work with the animals are genuinely caring, but the board of directors that decide the fate of these animals are a disgrace. They chose to kill rather than work with volunteers or reputable rescue groups.
