Musicals and orchestras are always my favourites and I have been to many theatres as well as concert halls but The Princess Theatre never fails to impress me no matter how many times I've been there.

I love the historical feel to it and how the original structures /artworks are being kept and if you are seated at the front rows of the circle seats, you will be able to watch not only the performance on stage but also the orchestra that is playing right underneath the main stage.

The queue to purchase drinks and snacks moved relatively quick which is a plus but waiting in line to get into the ladies toilet was a real pain.

The seats could be a little uncomfortable to some and there weren't much room for us to shuffle through but having mentioned all these, I love this theatre !!

And the latest Musical that I've watched, was The Legally Blonde which was simply splendid. They even brought a couple of dogs on stage and they were so well trained !!! Impressive !!

Yes this theatre is old but it is absolutely brimming with character and I love it. I've seen quite a few shows here, the latest being Jersey Boys (twice - it really is that good), and I've never been disappointed with the seating. The lines to get food and drink appear to move pretty quickly which is a plus. The toilets are positively archaic! I'd say they haven't really been updated since the theatre was built, but despite that they have their own certain old-world charm (as unusual as it is to comment on toilets...).

We recently saw the Jersey Boys at this theatre which was great. But was very disappointed with the lack of maintenance on seats etc. The seating itself was cramped and uncomfortable. The fabric on the seats were old and very worn. We had to stand every time someone wanted to find their seat in our row. If we had a person who was of a more fuller figure in our row, there was no way people would have been able to shuffle past. For this beautiful old theatre not to be maintained and shown some TLC is such a shame especially for the cost of attending shows here.

I would have expected better.

We recently saw Jersey Boys here, which was just brilliant (go see it if you have the chance!).

It's a beautiful old theatre. Ticket prices here are somewhat steep, and don't expect much leg room at all (if you're on the end of a row, you'll need to stand up every time someone wants to get past you), but it was very comfortable and cool despite being 35 degrees outside.

The staff were lovely and very helpful in finding our seats also.

Oh, and ladies, best not drink too much wine at the bar! There are only a handful of ladies toilets - I ended up spending the whole intermission in the queue.

Recently saw a live show here and it was wonderful!
Pricey, but it is what you would expect for such a grand theatre.
Will be seeing the upcoming shows for 2013, happy with the service, and a comfortable theatre to sit in for 2-3 hours.

I have been to watch a live performance here and found the Theatre to be a wonderful old theatre with comfortable seat and spacious areas. I think the old theatres are the best ones to visit.

Today we saw South Pacific at the Princess theatre. Going there today I had no idea about the story, but it truly surprised me. I loved it. It was magical to see it in such a lovely theatre. The staff were really helpful to the patrons, who many were older ladies who needed assistants. The theatre as always was really clean, easy to get to the seat and many staff on hand to ask for directions. Only problem here is not enough ladies toilets.

Approximate cost: $100

I would have loved this live performance if I could have afford it. I heard Lisa McCune was wonderful.

Loved everything in the theatre, was a very sofisticated looking building. Enjoyed every minute, had so much fun. I highly reccomend going to see moonshadow in this beautifl theatre!

I saw Moonshadow at a matinee performance. Such a beautiful theatre, with lots of decorative detail. There were lots of staff, and they were all very courteous. The show itself was mind-blowing, and the visuals and audio were amazing.

i went to see moonshadow. pre-theatre drinks gets quite business but we got directed upstairs which was a lot less busy and we didnt know about it so that was good of them to show us. that goes for the bathrooms too! i found the chairs uncomfortable though for a 2 hour show.
