I have frequented here many times over the years, traveling with my husband, children and grandchildren. We have stayed in varying room types and have always found the hotel to be clean and the staff welcoming and friendly. The rooms aren't amazingly spacious but when in Melbourne we don't need some where massive as we are rarely in our hotel room

i agree i usually make use of the actual room just at night - too busy frolicking and playing tourist in the day!

Central and affordable are the first 2 things that come to mind when thinking of the vic hotel. The staff are always pleasant and knowledgeable of whats happening in and around the city. The rooms I have used in the past have all been small which is fine for our short stop overs but I do feel if i wasn't using it as a resting point I would feel cramped.

Another wonderful stay at the Victoria and my favourite room yet. I love that every room is different and you never know until you go through the door! Love the central location and on site parking is so convenient. The staff at the Victoria Hotel are definitely the greatest asset, friendly, professional, nothing is too much trouble and they really go all out to ensure that their customers have a wonderful experience. The great value rooms are an added bonus!

Approximate cost: $130.00

we have stayed here many times over the years, it is affordable accommodation in the city within walking distance of all public transport. The rooms aren't amazing big but you aren't paying a large price for them either. They are kept clean despite the rooms themselves being rather old. Over the past few years it has received a cosmetic revamp

I have never stayed at this hotel but went to the bar for drinks before the football. It was a pleasant bar and close to the MCG.
Unfortunately the service was extremely slow. When we first got there they only had one staff member on as the other one was fixing the keg. I can't count the amount of people who got to the bar after me and were served before me. The service did improve the longer we were there but was still slow. It was a good place to go though.

I've stayed at the vic a few times & although the hotel itself isnt 5 star the service is. The hotel is very comfortable, the rooms are neat & tidy. the rooms include a bar fridge with fresh milk, tea & coffee, a kettle, iron & ironing board, bardrobe with hangers, ensuite bathroom with a shower & toilet & hairdryer. The rooms all have large screen tvs & airconditioners. for an extra $14 you can also include breakfast in the price of your room. breakfast is served at Alices restaurant & is a full buffet breakfast, this option is well worth the money, for $14 everyone in your room can eat breakfast....now thats unbeatable, you cant even get breakfast at maccas cheaper

I stay here whenever i go to Melbourne because it is centrally located & close to most attractions. The hotel rooms are a little dated & in much need of a revamp but they are clean & comfortable. I usually book a family room & that has a double bed & 2 single beds in it, digital tv, bar fridge, kettle, tea & coffee making facilities, iron & ironing board, hangers in the wardrobe, air con, chairs & fully equipped bathroom. If you need clean towels they can be found on a trolley in the hallway & there is a guest laundry with washers & dryers. They have a swimming pool, spa & sauna too. Next door to the hotel is Alice's restaurant & for an extra $14 on the cost of your room you can enjoy a full buffet breakfast each morning. The service is excellent & the staff are very helpful. For budget accommodation this really is a fantastic hotel

I have stayed here lots of times and have always found it to be clean and comfortable. Staff are always helpful and nice. The hotel has an inside pool, spa and gym. It also has a bar where you can grab a drink after a day of shopping in the near by cbd. Is very cheap to stay here and is close to everything

I have stayed at the victoria hotel on many occasions over the last 12 years and always found it to be very accommodating for all sorts of people and budgets. You can get a budget room which is a basically a room with a bed and shower facilities, these are also smoking rooms. You can get what they call a heritage room which is a more modern room with plasma tv, ensuite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and lots more. These rooms are non-smoking. I have always found both rooms to be clean. Our favourite thing about victoria hotel would have to be the full buffet breakfast that the hotel offers with room packages or can be brought for about $16 pp. The food is absolutely beautiful.
