The Woodhouse do lovely pizzas and a range of steaks. I have always had the pizzas and they are delicious. The meals are expensive but all the best quality local ingredients are used. Friend's at my table raved about the burgers they ordered and devoured.

It has a warm atmosphere and an outdoor area which is great during summer. The service is always friendly and prompt.

They also have a great selection of drinks, and you can sit at the bar for a drink as well as having a meal.

A great place to go for a special occasion.

Been here once. I was happy, they're a bit pricey but so worth it. The smoke flavour in the pizza is to die for! if you want fancy smoked pizza, go here!

i have been to the woodhouse once and would highly reccomend this place. They serve the best meat around using only the finest and do not compromise on taste on any part from the entree right through to the desserts you are in for a treat.

We've been to the Woodhouse a number of times. On our most recent visit, we were glad to see that the food, service & quality so far remained excellent.

However, every time we visited the bathroom it was either dirty or smelly. This time was even worse - in addition to both of the above, the floor was also wet. This isn't really appropriate for any restaurant, but especially so given The Woodhouse is supposed to be an upmarket restaurant.

With the bathroom in such poor condition, we couldn't stop ourselves from wondering about the kitchen, which was kept hidden at the back, well away from the eyes of the guests...

Their fish of the day was extremely fresh, not that frozen rubbish some places try to pass off as being fresh. The tiger prawn pizza was awesome, as was the Wagyu beef pizza. Dessert - we chose the tasting platter - was the best - great taste & great value. The selection of desserts was truly amazing, they all complemented each other perfectly. One of the best, if not the best, restaurants in Bendigo. Only flaw was the wine list - it wasn't very good, nor was it particularly extensive. We chose the chardonnay that night, and it was a bit disappointing.

Approximate cost: $20 - $30

I recently had my first meal here since The Puddler restaurant was sold and reopened as The Woodhouse.

The interior decor has been renovated and updated to be a casual yet sophisticated modern black and rustic wooden furnishings, and a wood house style pizza oven has been installed.

The menu includes a gourmet pizza section, a variety of steaks ranging from $30-$50, and a couple of chicken and fish dishes. The meals are beautifully presented and very filling, and both our steaks were cooked exactly as requested. The porterhouse steak had a mushroom herb sauce and also was served with freshly made rosemary chips and salad. Definitely worth the price!

For dessert they offer a tasting plate which includes a sample size of their four desserts (lemon cheesecake, creme brulee, chocolate brownie and a chocolate cake).

Approximate cost: $26-50

We were part of a table of 6 on a busy Saturday night and found the service to be really good and the staff friendly. The restaurant has a beautiful rustic interior and a big fireplace, which creates a really nice atmosphere. It was a cold winter night but very toasty inside. Probably, a little too warm with the combination of heaters, fireplace & pizza oven. Most of the mains are about $25. The steaks range from about $32 to $55. My partner & I shared the slow cooked lamb pizza ($20) which was delicious, and the pumpkin & pinenut ravioli ($25), which was a little disappointing. The flavours were nice but I found it a little too thick and not enough filling. We also shared the dessert tasting plate ($20) which was a combination of 4 mini desserts which were all delicious but my favourite was the Crème Brulee. The house shiraz was ok but not great. I would be keen to go back again and try the steaks.
