Caleb has just finished a job for us and we are extremely impressed. We found him via Word of Mouth and are happy to report the good experience others have described was the case for us too.

Our job involved removal of plants and an existing driveway and concrete/stone garden bed walls, widening and installing a new exposed aggregate driveway and making new stone garden bed walls. From the outset he replied to my email quickly and then communicated very well, even before inspecting the site. He provided good advice about options and design, particularly to maintain heritage appearance and also for varying budgets.

He was always available by phone and email before and during the job itself. He also involved other contractors who we found to be competent and easy to deal with (special thanks to Gary the concreter). He repeatedly asked if the progressing job met our expectations and satisfied our goal.

The finished job itself looks brilliant, was completed on time (and we appreciate it being squeezed in before Christmas) and under budget. We couldn't be happier and thank Caleb and the team at Tonkin Stone and Landscapes, who we recommend highly.

I had a large Chloe Anglesea Stone letterbox/pillar that was knocked down by a demolition team. Caleb was absolutely amazing with his love and appreciation of Stone and attention to detail. It was better than the original. Thank you very much and I would love a wall.

We had the pleasure of working with Caleb. He designed and transformed our garden (back and front) into a tanquil space. He was able to balance rock formations and stonewalling with meandering paths and plantings. The space is fun and playful and is very much complimented by the neighbours. Caleb was easy to work with and had an incredible eye for detail which was matched by his passion for high quality and precise work. He was a great problem solver especially when dealing with the issues of drainage and existing gas lines and showed initiative and proactivity when problems presented themselves. He was always professional and presented as well rounded and knowledgable across the multifaceted areas of his work. I would recommend Caleb for any future landscape or stonemasonry works.

We are extremely pleased with Caleb's work in repaving our apartment courtyard, which had been having drainage issues for a number of years. Caleb was always professional, timely, was a great communicator and discussed alternatives to work within our budget. He was very precise with the work he completed and we couldn't be happier with the result! Highly recommend Tonkin Stone and Landscapes. .

Our house was newly built 5 years ago and we had tried to do work on our yard ourselves for a while but time and lack of skill in landscaping got in the way. We had a lot of work to do, so hiring Caleb was the best decision we made. We had ideas of what we wanted but Caleb was very helpful in putting his professional advice/opinion towards the design swell, which we found reassuring. The garden we are so happy with now, it looks fabulous, it is very functional now and there are parts that have turned out way better than expected, which we are super pleased about. Caleb and Hamish both worked super hard on extremely hot days and we could not be more grateful for their efforts in getting our job done before the busy christmas season and in a timely manner.
I would highly recommend Tonkin Stone and Landscapes to anyone and will be using him for future work at our home.

I started out with fixing a retaining wall. Then added new garden edging a new letter box all in bluestone. Caleb's masonry skills are exceptional. He is very meticulous with his work and second best is not good enough. He always made sure he was building the stonework how we wanted and we did make some changes along the way but Caleb was not phased just incorporated what we wanted into the job at hand. He also leveled out our backyard and re seeded the lawn. The end result is fantastic and we are extremely pleased. Caleb was very easy to get along with and thorough with his quoting, sourcing of stone and work ethic. Have no problem recommending Caleb to do your stonework for you. You will not be disappointed, you will be more than pleased.

We are currently building a new home with a large cut on a sloping block requiring a 1m high 38m long retaining wall. With no idea about what to do we called Caleb for some ideas and inspiration. Caleb come out onsite several times to go through plans and ideas based on our budget and location. He has built us a fantastic retaining wall out of Concrete sleepers with a slight batter to be filled with a rock garden. Although we are only halfway through the whole project he has everything in place for when i give him the call to finish the job. His work to date has been fantastic and even under budget!!! Cant wait to get him back to finish off. Highly recommend to any one. I will definitely be getting him back for more work.

We wanted to redesign our awkward front patio steps into a welcoming curved stone feature. Not an easy task, but Caleb was able to design and build our vision with ease. He was meticulous about getting it right. It looks great and have had many positive comments from visitors. Highly recommend.

We sought and found a creative craftsman to build a distinctive sandstone retaining wall and complete related landscaping works including turfed lawn area. Caleb persevered through some very wet weather and was a pleasure to have on site due to caring & friendly attitude and readiness to listen

I had part of the courtyard landscaped and Caleb was very willing to take on board my requirements with the design. He did a fantastic job on the sandstone paving and lawn edged with redgum sleepers.
A pleasure to work with, Caleb was always very professional and very flexible in tailoring the job to suit my many demands and budget!

Caleb landscaped our backyard in Brighton and did a great job. He built a 26m retaining wall, wooden feature screens and large bench seats cantilevered off the wall. He also made us an in-ground trampoline, which has been very popular with our kids and any kids that come over. He did some great paving too using 1m x 1m pavers. Using these pavers (and skill with a grinder!) he made two boxes which serve as seats. They are pavers on all sides, with neatly mitred joints and we often get comments from friends as to how great they look.

I can highly recommend Caleb if you are looking for a good landscaper. Due to the nature of our project (large and unsure of the exact scope) he worked on an hourly rate, but we always found him to be very hard working, efficient and very tidy. His attention to detail and passion for his work is second to none.

Caleb built a large raised bluestone planter box which we use for veggies and herbs. It is a dry wall, so every stone was painstakingly worked to fit like pieces in a puzzle. The end result was better than I could have imagined. Caleb is very passionate about his craft, a highly skilled artisan, of which unfortunately of which there are few left.

We had an area of brick paving done, which had to tie in as neatly as possible with existing paving. The end result was that it is impossible to detect where the old paving stops and the new paving starts. Also we had about 30 metres of brick garden edging done, in free flowing lines rather than in rigid square lines. Both jobs were done exactly as we wanted, on time and with no mess left at the end.

Calob picked up a difficult job with difficult stone. A feat of persistance, done with care with the added stress of being sympathetic to existing works by others.
