Con artists avoid at all costs

An additional charge taken from my account without adequate notice or proper explanation! Weight and dimension of package were correct, yet they took an extra 30% on top of the original fee. Scam artists that under quote to get business and then charge an additional fee later on! Avoid and go with a reputable courier!

In mediation Transdirect responded with the usual...sorry for the bad experience etc. They then fell into what seems to be typical pattern where they say there were differences between the dimensions given and their measurements. These differences are likely known soon after collection, but they take weeks to inform you, don't give you a chance to respond and simultaneously debit your account with an additional charge.

It would appear the approach is to underquote to win business and then sneak a stealth charge at a later date to make the margin up! Many similar reviews we can't all be wrong!!!

Think twice before dealing with these con artists! Stick to reputable freight companies!

There seems to be a common theme with this company: the service is adequate but they overcharge by using dimensions greater than as-measured. This happened to me. The overcharged amount ($60) is not worth the cost of lodging a claim with the Magistrate Court ($55), so all I can do is warn people not to use this company. Despite supplying extensive measurements and photographic proof they were wrong, they refuse to refund me. I even offered to take the package to their local depot to get it remeasured, but they declined. They are convinced their infra-red sensor is more reliable than a tape measure. I think they are scared of the consequences of admitting their measuring procedure is not always right.

Terrible experience. DO NOT USE!
4 boxes sent total weight 59kg. Heaviest item was 40kg. 3 boxes delivered. 1 could not be found for days delivered to wrong address. Poor communication. No accountability
Now have been charged be overweight fee of $363 saying boxes weighed 216kg.
IMPOSSIBLE. My husband carried the heaviest (40kg) box himself.
This company is a SCAM
Won’t let you talk to the accounts department on the phone have to email which they don’t respond to.
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY (RIP OFF)

Buyer beware! They load The trucks so makes it difficult for the driver to unload your deliveries and if it takes more than 10 minutes they charge you an extra $90 more.

It’s hidden in their terms and conditions that the buyer needs to supply adequate and suitable equipment. If you’re a residential address they will take your money for the booking (even stating you’re a residential address) load the truck up so it takes more time to unload, then charge you more. Shame on you. Look elsewhere for a better experience.

Booked freight to NZ through Transdirect with TNT as the carrier. Upon booking, decided to take out insurance on the shipment to ensure if anything goes wrong I am covered.

2 of the 3 boxes arrived however the 3rd never made it. Received contacted TNT as the carrier to investigate. After almost 2 months of searching warehouses they deemed the box lost and to then contact trans direct.

I then contacted trans direct and they stated that as I had not contacted them within the 7 days the shipment was expected to be delivered they couldn’t process the claim. Although the original 2 boxes out of 3 that were delivered were actually 14 days late.

Disgraceful that a company can lose $2100 worth of goods and then decline the claim based on a time frame issue which wasn’t even realistic.

Will be taking this further. I have previously shipped a lot of items through Transdirect. Will never use again!!

I had booked a Consignment Number: IRE016125459 on Transdirect web site on 14th Sep., the carton's data is correctly input,【carton size 52x42x36cm, weight 28kg, pickup from Beverly hills 2209 to MARAYLYA 2765 】
and the quote list showed TNT is $37.95. CouriersPlease is $42.55. so I chose TNT.
On 29th Sep., they emailed me an Under Declared Collection Notification saying it's 31kgs. Subsequently, an amount of $154.24 is owing for this delivery. This amount will be charged to your original payment method. ( paypal is set as the automatic payment method.)
I have used the same weight data of 28kgs to have booked at least 25 times with them already, None had issues before. if the input date is incorrect for this one, then why is it all correct for former 25s ?

even for now, if try the quote again with the same carton data on their web site, the TNT quote still shows $39.xx. (2$ more )

So, I believe they must be wrong. then emailed back after their surcharge on 29th Sep. they said they would check it and it may take 7 days. But after 2 weeks passed, they have no any update. So I emailed them again, actually TWICE in 3 days, but NO ANY RESPONSE. It's TERRIBLE customer service, they are pretending to be deaf and don't want to solve the issue.
Then I had to reviewed 1* on TrustPilot, then they replied but explained much other things off the point. They explained there will be more postage to a residential address than a commercial address. But BE NOTED, the delivery address was input as Residential already, nothing to do with commercial !

The key is the carton weight. If it’s 28kgs, then postage is $39.xx, if it’s 31kgs, then postage is around $200, then their surcharge will be correct. But this carton is one of 50 cartons imported, same product with same dimension & same weight. Contacted the buyer and confirmed it’s the correct product received. It’s 200% sure that it’s 28kgs. every each of them was weighed in the factory for quality reason. and More than 100 of them were sent with HUNTER EXPRESS previously all using 28kgs without any issue.

Right now still have 24 of them in stock, they can come to weigh it and to PROVE it’s 28kgs. But if they can’t prove it’s 31kgs, they need to REFUND the surcharge. otherwise they are ripping off customers.

The company alleged the driver waited 23 minutes to collect the item (instead of 15) and purported to therefore increase the cost of the service by around 147% of the original agreed cost. They also waited for over a month after the consignment was delivered to raise this. Poor service, even worse communication. A quick Google search reveals I’m not the first to have this experience with them.. do not use this company for logistics.
