a very easy site to use.it gives you a clear overview of places to stay and places to visit,i like reading the reviews about places and peoples experiences.
a great site to look around and see what they have to offer, just reading some reviews on different places, some positive and some negative.
I usually use this site all the time to check out a hotel and restaraunt before going however a recent experience has deterred me. I had a terrible experience at a turkish restaraunt which resulted in food poisoning. I had contacted the establishment in mooloolaba prior recviewing them and they didnt care. I wrote my review and tripadvisor took it down. I emailed them asking why to no response. The next day I see this business with a tripadvisor sticker next to their register. It's all a bit too suss for me. I dont like businesses paying sites for good reviews!
Great service, I like reading the reviews and checking transport
Details. Having a new job where parking is limited I use this app for transport purposes.
When we went on our honeymoon it was rather last min and didnt have time to plan things, this is the site i used to find everything around the area, from things to do to places to eat
An excellent site for travellers, you can read reviews posted by travellers, and can also write reviews.reviews are always honest and helpful.its free to join and is well worth reading before booking a motel or eating out etc.
I do a lot of research for our various travels and I often refer to Tripadvisor as "My Travel Bible". I will not book any accommodation or use any travel provider unless I check on Tripadvisor first. And I also post my reviews on there to help out my fellow travellers the same way they have helped me.
I use the website all the time for every accommodation booking I make overseas. I remember my first stay in Paris at a cheap hotel prior to using Tripadvisor and it was a nightmare, and it was then that I found out about Tripadvisor after googling that hotel and finding out that Tripadvisor already had comments about the hotel's 'dirty bed sheets' and 'scary location' - wish I knew earlier!
Since then I have used it religiously, however, I would recommend taking people's comments with a 'grain of salt' as I've noticed some people can be abnormally fussy or just have a one off bad experience. Usually I would read quite a number of the reviews for a hotel to get the gyst of a general theme (eg. noisy location, old building). Its also useful to see the hotel's responses to the various comments as it gives you an idea of the attitude of management to customer concerns.
I also like to look at newer reviews as the management/owners may have changed since or the hotel may be newly renovated.
Their online quotations with the various booking sites is a bit hit and miss because they just have too many, I tend to just stick to the ones I've used before such as expedia and hotels.com. The prices rarely vary between those sites.

Its a great site to look up your destinations and read feedback for the different people who have stayed there. It helps you to wade through and shortlist a few if you are having trouble deciding
Trip Advisor is an online service, www.tripadvisor.com.au
Trip Advisor tout themselves as "The World's Largest Travel Site" and I'm sure that's true.
They provide reviews of accommodation, restaurants, flights, attractions - anything to do with travel or holidays, you can find it here!
Want to know if that hotel you booked in Adelaide (or New York or Peru) is at the dodgy end of town or a party animals's paradise? Check on Trip Advisor.
I've used them for precisely that (although having already booked the hotel, felt a bit queasy reading all the poor reviews!) Worked out fine though!
I've also used them to check restaurants both locally and interstate, attractions around Adelaide, the Harbour Bridge climb in Sydney, Salamanca market in Hobart (although that one was just from curiosity, I live in Hobart!) I'm amazed at how many people provide reviews, and all the useful tips.
For example, I deduced from Trip Advisor that I should request a room at the back of my hotel in Adelaide, if I didn't want to be situated right over the nightclub - that was really helpful.
You don't have the ability to comment on reviews, but importantly, business owners have a right of reply, so you can read their responses to complaints. This can tell you a lot about a business too, the way the owner speaks to disgruntled clients and tries (or not) to placate and/or problem solve.
A very useful, I would urge everyone to give it a try.

Before i book any flights/hotels and want to know about a particular place, i always check out tripadvisor, they are great! great reviews and I believe they are genuine as it usually matches what i see once i have booked the hotel or the location. Thanks guys keep up the great work
I thoroughly check this site before I book a hotel. I avoid reviews which have the lowest rating and also the ones with the incredibly high rating to get more of an idea. If I have any concerns with something I read eg lack of linen, room quality, I will call the hotel in question and see if they can help me avoid the issue with my booking. great site.
It does sounds a great site, thanks for the tip!
This is a great place to double check where you are going is the right place for you!
I wanted to book a hotel in france and was about to pay since i found a really cheap offer. however at that point i thought of checking out the reviews on trip adv and thank God I did that , they were horrible!
I wont book till i have checked via Trip advisor its a god sent to get accurate details and photos of accommodation. Feed back really matters to me and this is the best site.
I agree with you. I do the same.
As others have said, its a great site to use as research tool for hotel reviews. However the part I like best is the forums, such a great community who answer with great advice
Excellent site for seeing unbiased reviews on dining and accomodation, I always look before booking accomodation and I have also contributed towards reviews
Tripadvisor is a must website for anyone planning on travelling in Australia or internationally. Check out the experiences of other travelers regarding accommodation, restaurants, services and anything to do with a trip. I use it every time we travel to check out motels and restaurants along our route and have found some great places that I wouldn't have known about otherwise, as well as places to STAY AWAY from.

This site is a must go for anyone traveling abroad or even just checking out new restaurants. I love how users are able to submit their own photos because there's nothing worse than management putting up stunning photos of the hotel, but in reality it's dirty and messy. I've been using this for about 6 months now. I even use it if I'm at home thinking of things to do on the weekend or wanting to check out new restaurants.
I use them all the time. When I need to know about a hotel it's the first place I go to check out the reviews about the place. I have found them to be extremely helpful for quality, cleanliness, service and even parking at the hotels we've stayed at.
I use trip advisor alot. I last used it when I went to Cairns. It was very informative, but I was a little disappointed in the hotel we got. Noone said it was in the outer suburbs, but all in all ok. I just wish people would be more accurate in their descriptions. But at the end of the day everyone has different opinions, so I go with the ones with the most reviews.
Tripadvisor is good for some locations, where there are a few good people engaged, but often the advise can be provided by complete nobs with very little experience. Thus consider carefully before you take the advise too seriously. Of course there is also a lot of shady entries, both positive and negative.

thank u for the tip. that's helpful.
The top site for all your travel information.Great site for accommodation, places to eat and holiday activities. Genuine reviews that makes it so easy for you to plan your holiday
This is a great idea. I have it as an app on my phone and whenever we travel we always use it to find local restaurants, accomodation or things to see and do. I don't know how we survived without it.
If it's not on Tripadvisor then I don't stay - simple!
The reviews are often spot on, get to the point & have photo's to back up a review.
Establishments also get rewarded at the annual Tripadvisor awards evening - encompassing all regions worldwide & they are much respected by the large establishments - especially the Hilton chain.
Its a fair system that allows the establishment to respond to client feedback openly for all to see.

I never book accommodation without referring to this website. The reviews are obviously genuine and pretty much spot on. I have only had two bad choices from over 60 that I have made on tripadvisor - I think that is a great strike rate. About to jump on now to book a road trip!
I love how they have photos from actual customers as well
Great site to review everything from hotels, activities in the area, best place to eat, just about anything you want to know about a new area. I alway use it before I book anything.
We use trip advisor every time we travel to get an idea of good places to stay. So far they have been very accurate & we would never book an hotel without checking with them first!
TripAdvisor is my first place for checking the quality of a restaurant and Hotels, it is a superb resource. I like the integrity of TripAdvisor, it surpasses all other review sites, those who write for it do it for no reward so they are generally, genuine and believe in what they are saying. No short one liners to score a buck, but heart felt reviews, about the real experiences of people wanting to share that.
Trip advisor is very handy. I always use Tripadvisor.com to research hotles and activities in the surrounding area of our holiday.
a great little website. offers opinions and first hand accounts on upcoming trips, without the interference of the companies themselves. excellent to get a true idea.
It is good to read reviews of others that have stayed or visited places, gives a personal indication of what to expect.
Looking for accommodation and want to know what others think? Try Tripadvisor. Use it for accommodation on trips in Australia and overseas to find out what others think of the accommodation. Need to be a bit careful at times as sometimes there are negative reviews that are not accurate and others that providers have inserted. However, Tripadvisor maintain they have a process of weeding these out. Have not been disappointed to date. Can also use the site to find the cheapest on-line from various on-line booking agencies
I always check out the reviews on Tripadvisor when contemplating staying somewhere on holidays. People that have already stayed before, leave reviews which are worth noting. This is a great service.
It truly is helpful when your trying to make a decision of where to stay. I love the honest opinions of others - so you actually get an all round idea of what a place is like.
I often use this website to see if the accommodation is going to suit our needs and if it has good reviews. I think overall people leave honest reviews which is helpful to know before booking.
