Virgil Removals

We scheduled for an 8am start, they didn't turn up until 9.40am with no explanation except to say there was a bit of a mix-up and no apologies offered. We had a piano included as well, and there was one big chip off the piano, as well as numerous scratches on the study desk, the piano seat. I pointed it out to them - they looked me in the eye and denied all culpability saying the scratches were all there beforehand. I know that the scratches weren't there. I would never move with them again. They are subcontractors with Virgil and it seems Virgil takes no responsibilities (express movers - were written on the truck). For an extra $400 paid on the piano - denied culpability is not on.

Helped my dad with his move, elderly man and they were very nice and professional, and especially patient with him.

Don’t use. Will lie about when they are coming and then keep lieing. We waited an entire day for them to show up while constantly being told “1.5-2 hours away” or “on our way”.

Apparently it’s unreasonable for us to not be okay with it taking almost two hours to get to Queanbeyan from Watson.

Avoid, despite the paid advertisements saying they’re great…

We have a great move with Virgil Removals Canberra. Ian was very polite and easy to deal with, and the movers on the day were equally professional. They moved our 4 bedroom + office home in Red Hill without any fuss.

Absolutely trash! Do not use!!! Worst experience ever! They were late, damaged some of our belongings, and were purposely slow. One of the movers was rude, argumentative, and walked off the job, so he didn't have to pay for the item he broke. They were expecting for us to pay over $500 more than another removalist company charged us to move the same stuff only a few months before.

ABSOLUTEY DO NOT BOOK WITH VIRGIL. Don’t bother getting a booking time or a quote because they’ll be super late and then try and charge you more. Completely incompetent. I booked for 1pm. I called and called and called and nothing. Eventually at 1:30 they finally call me to say they’d just finished the job before AND THEY’RE GOING TO HAVE LUNCH, so they’ll be there about 2:30. What’s the point of booking a time at all? Completely utterly incompetent. Don’t waste your own time. They arrived 1 and a half hours late, smoking, not wearing masks. My couch now smells musty and gross. I asked them to wrap it in the plastic couch protector I purchased and despite having a 2 seater couch and the protector being 2-3 seater they said it “didn’t fit”. And now my couch smells. It started raining and they took my $2300 tv out in the rain without wrapping it. It had grimy hand marks all over it. My washing machine is now leaking. JUST COMPLETELY AVOID. They’re not worth your time or money. They’ll be more of a headache than a help. And moving is stressful enough.
