Virgin Australia is one of the better domestic carriers. I recently flew Sydney to Gold Coast. On the way back I flew jetstar. Significant difference. Virgin offers complimentary drink on board. Leather seats are more comfortable and there's more leg room. My plane had two seats on each side, still felt spacious compared to jetstar. I would recommend waiting for deals as it is more expensive than jetstar and tiger.
I've flown with Virgin Airlines on a trip to the US. It was quite comfortable, and I like how they provide unlimited snacks and water; you can serve yourself if you like, and not have to wait for the crew to come to you for drinks.
They also have a reward system for when you fly with them or their partner airlines, such as Delta.
Great Service and Friendly Staff ,never had a issue with them and will continue to use ,Seating on Air Craft not the most comfortable but when you gets cheap flights ,I will sit on anything
Whilst other airlines are cutting back, I like the fact Virgin still gives you a feeling of getting a real service and value for money. Pricing isn't as cheap, but the tend to keep their departure times (unlike others that are always delayed!).
Approximate cost: $210
We always try to fly with them too. Never had a issue with them. Friendly staff too.
Not a bad airline can't say I'm a fan of their seats though.
They also include entertainment on their international economy flights.
generally agree with what everyone's said here - i think virgin's one of the better airlines for interstate travel within australia, free food, decent service & hassle free checkin and checkout
I do take into account that their prices tend to be a little more expensive than Jet star, but with Jet Star you have to pay for meals and entertainment separately (if available on that flight).
I love Virgin Australia and believe that they are the best domestic airline in Australia. Their service is exceptional and they actually have a decent amount of room between their seats. They have changed their beers since last I flew with them and they no longer accept credit cards on board.
We flew from Coolangatta to Melbourne and although our flight was delayed slightly we made up time on the flight. We were provided with a meal as part of our ticket and the Roast Beef and Pesto wrap was quite good. We were also given Ashgrove Cheese and some Arnotts Crackers and we were also offered a drink.
I have never had a problem with Virgin in my 12 years of travelling with them and would always prefer to travel with them where financially viable.
I love flying with Virgin Australia! They were absolutely fantastic when I flew to Sydney earlier this year with my 3 month old baby. They showed me how to strap her to my seat and were falling over themselves to make sure myself and bubs were comfortable and whether we needed a bottle heated. Lovely staff at check in and departure gates. We were stuck in Sydney for 4 hours due to the bad weather coming down from Brisbane but they were fantastic level headed and always checked to make sure we were ok and if there was anything that the baby needed. I love services like this. I will always choose Virgin Australia first over any other airline
Great service, will do everything possible to get you the best deal, help you out if theres a reason I.E traffic when you are running late, All staff now what they are talking about and no cross statements
Approximate cost: $500
I absolutely love flying with Virgin airlines, its fun and entertaining and everything about it entices excitement. I look forward to the flying experience almost as much as the destination. The only thing that is a downside to flying with Virgin is that you don`t get prepared meals as a part of the free service and you have to order and pay for sandwiches / drinks etc. (They are much cheaper than their competition so I do not see that as a huge negative aspect anyway.) I find the Virgin staff to be extremely happy and always friendly (You can always look forward to a Virgin flight attendants smile.) You can always tell when someone loves their job as their smile is natural and not forced. I always intend on flying Virgin unless I am going somewhere where the flight times are not suited, or another company beats their price (but has to be somewhat of a big price difference), or else I just fly with the service with a great smile!
I have to agree , I love flying with Virgin too
always friendly staff, however the sydney check in lady was really grumpy and unfriendly, she didn't greet us, nor say goodbye nor even have a good flight - she obviously got out of the wrong side of bed but Virgin you should keep an eye out for staff like this as it's offputting - first time it's happened but you don't forget things like that
I don't like Virgin's staff either, not friendly at all and service attitude is really bad, now I've switched to other airline, prefer to pay a little bit more rather than treat by them really bad. understand your feeling
