Customer extortion

I've been bundling with Vodafone for years but in the past 5 mths have often had no internet connection on both Wifi and mobile. When I can connect, the speeds are ultra slow. Often cant make calls, get a URL up or receive txts on the mobile. Vodafone's solution to these problems? Pay them heaps more for a higher priced plan so I can get internet access and make calls from my phone. Thats extortion and I know plenty of other people experiencing this with Vodafone right now too.

No star but system made be choose one. Customer Service is terrible. Every time I called had to go through all the issues again with new operator. Every time was promised a manager to call back. Never happened. Was even requested to send my ID to the offshore call centre to prove who I was? After 6 months finally went to a store and horrific treatment. DO NOT USE VODAFONE. The Senior Managers and shareholders of Vodafone need to take accountability of the mess they have created. ASIC need to actually start doing something about some of these telecommunications companies and how they operate in Australia.

I was with vodafone as a post paid mobile user for last 10 years, however recent experience with the costumer service is the worst. A staff of them asked my imp. doc to update my identity in the system and I sent the doc as per their recommended email ID. Later I realised , they had asked me to send the doc to another company's email. They were violating an individual's right to privacy and confidentiality asking to disclose my information to another company that which I am not associated with. In another way, I am worried that the other company might misuse my doc and its details. I complained this verbally and in written detailing every thing with evidence. Surprisingly, they did not do anything substantially. Even they did not clearly apologise. My hours and hours wasted communicating with them; went into vain. That is why I am no more with vodafone anymore. I thought to complain this to Aus Gov authority but I have not done yet as I am very busy these days. Lets see.

The main thing, I want to create awareness to all of you about their negligence towards customers. Pls be aware of them and think twice before taking their services.

Hi Shreyasd, while we understand your frustration, some additional information (detailing your disatisfaction) would have been useful. Regards, Reeces

I have been a vodafone customer for quite a few years now (my kids are also with them) I always buy the recharge vouchers because I think they are great value and never seem to use them up completely. My only issue is that they have informed me that they improved coverage, less dropping out. But nothing has changed, we live in a rural area and I can only use the phone in one place in the house, fortunately the kids can use the internet on their phone - but it has to be up against the window. Also customer service is not worth your time on the phone - terrible customer service. If I have any issues, I have to go in store it is the only way.

Hi Shazzbot1, good to see a detailed review from a trusted WOMOer. From all the complaints we have read (in relation to reception), Vodafone would have to win the competition for the worst reception and even worse customer service! (Consumers being forced to position themselves in unlikely, uncomfortable and potentially dangerous places in an attempt to access a service that is obviously lacking.) Given the circumstances, we were somewhat surprised at your generous â??starâ?? rating for the service component of the review. Thank you kindly for the heads-up! Regards, Reeces

I have been with Vodafone since I had to swap over from 3 to upgrade my phone and i have never had an issue with the actual service or reception. However I would suggest that people go into a Vodafone dealer to upgrade their phone as I had the worst experience that way. Instead of just upgrading my phone they tried to give me a whole new account on top of the old one as well as it taking approximately a month for the new sim card to work in the phone. Got it all fixed immediately after I went into a Vodafone shop.

I wanted to give this telco ago since they spent tons on upgrading their service after that bad reputation in 2011. I live in a rural area and the service is pretty good only occasionally I won't have any service inside but outside I can get nearly fullbars. I'm yet to receive a bill that actually reflects what plan I signed up for. There's always extras, mmm. And data if you get 200mb or 1gb that should be it. Not an overflow unless you ask for it. That catch pings me right off. Its like having a credit card with a limit but you can spend over it anyway. They do come good with network gaurantee, so try it if you don't like it cancel it. Watch that they will try and give you a discount of your monthly plan to try and make you stay.

Approximate cost: $1400.00

Hi Raelene, thanks for a detailed review! Isnâ??t it amazing to see the lengths telcos are prepared to go in order to try and retain your business, when really all we want (at the end of the day) is a functional service, honest pricing and to be treated with respect. Thanks for the heads-up! Regards, Reeces
