Our lunch here was superb. Lovely atmosphere with views over Wellington Square. Amazing friendly and helpful service. Huge range of beers, stouts and ciders on tap at excellent prices.
My husband and I shared a tapa plate for $40 of bbq bourbon pork ribs (6), lamb seekh kebabs (4), Southern friend chicken strips (4), fried haloumi and chorizo (2 and 4), herb dusted fish (4) and crumbed button mushrooms (4). We were not hungry after this feast. They offer lots of specials throughout the week. We noticed people eating their burgers and we want to return to also sample these. We will be back.

Approximate cost: $60

Oh dear, what happened to the schnitzels?

Our lovely dinners arrived, the plates laden with crispy delicious chips, a nice little salad, and good sized schnitzels.

All around us, people hoed into deep fried goodness - crispy golden battered fish and large schnitzels. But cutting into my schnitzel, it was immediately obvious that the batter consisted of - no hyperbole- 90% of the schnitzel. The actual beef was the exact thickness of a slice of cheap linoleum.

I looked enviously at my partner's chicken parmigiana; huge and covered with sauce and looking mouthwatering. But he winked at me and said, look at how much chicken is in this! He too had a lino-sized slice of chicken sneakily covered in thick, crunchy, tasty batter.

The wine list was surprisingly nice, and the atmosphere was rowdy but friendly. The chips were, as I said, tasty and crispy, the presentation was good, the drinks flowed.

Dinner would have been a good solid 8/10 if the meat had showed up to the party.

But a schnitzel without meat is like... a party without booze, a dog that's all bark and no bite, a paper tiger; all talk and no action.

We won't be eating the schnitzels at the Welly again, unfortunately. I do hope they add some meat to their menu!

One of my favourites. Great meat, always fresh and tender. Large servings but not much served with it. Wine list good. Service is not available so have to go to bar yourself which is the only downfall.

Best steaks in Adelaide. Big juicy and cooked to perfection. Every steak that you can imagine to choose from. I ordered the t bone and it was terrific. Put it with a great bottle of wine and I'll be back

I have dined at the Wellington Hotel on several occasions. They provide a great menu and atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and happy to make recommendations if you're not sure what to have on your first visit.

I had dinner at the Wellington Hotel last week and the place is still great, but they have cut down the size of their menu and changed a few things ... they now season their chips with pepper ... and pepper seems to be on everything. Still a great place, but not a fan of the pepper seasoning. Overkill.

The Wellington Hotel provides a very interesting and memorable dining experience when it comes to hotels. The dining room itself has a gorgeous atrium, and the atmosphere is quite relaxed. They serve a variety of meals, but I think the burgers stand out (probably because they serve a vegetarian burger!). The vegie burger is delicious, consisting of a falafel patty, cheese, tzatziki and salad, and my boyfriend is a big fan of the wellyburger (although his waist line isn't, as it's very hearty!).
