My boyfriend and I just got back from a 2day/2nt cruise on Whitsunday-Getaway. Despite having travelled most of the globe Whitsunday-Getaway was personally by far the most awesome thing i've done travel wise. I honestly can't recommend it highly enough. The catamaran sleeps 8 (4 couples) and each couple has their own private cabin with ensuite, storage area and a DVD player. The boat is immaculate and spacious so you don't feel like you can't be alone but there's also plenty of opportunity to socialise and get to know the others on board too. Dave and Holly were amazing and kept us informed on what we were doing from the minute we arrived. Dave has an extensive knowledge of the area and has a great outlook on life, he's a very smart guy who my partner and I had enormous respect for (we were also insanely jealous of his lifestyle). It was Holly's first trip out as host on the boat but she did an amazing job and kept us well fed the entire time. The food on board was delicious, healthy and plentiful, plus there was always the option of desert! Despite only being a 2day/2nt trip it felt like we were out there for a really long time and you do get a lot done in the time you're out. Between exploring, snorkelling (we hit the most amazing spots), eating, drinking champagne, and watching world class sunsets there isn't a lot of room for twiddling your thumbs. Dave took us to visit some of the local fish -George, Georgina and Elvis the hump headed Maori Wrasse, Spike and his crew, the Batfish at the back of the boat practically nibbling at our fingers and so many more. We saw sea turtles, dolphins, and fish of all sizes and colours. As soon as we jumped in the water our eyes nearly popped out of our heads. The weather was perfect the whole time we were out too, don't forget to take your sunscreen!!!. I would whole heartedly recommend a trip out on Whitsunday-Getaway, it's 100% worth the money. Even though we won this trip as a prize from Godo everyone on board remarked on what good value it is and I'd definitely pay it. I'd recommend this trip for couples or honeymooners, or if you can get a group of 8 together even better. You won't be disappointed. Next time I'll be booking a 3-5 night cruise for sure.
