This place has two sort of parts to it - there is a take-away food and cafe half and then a sit down restaurant which was only open from 5.00 - 8.00 pm. It has a big reputation but didn't live up to it on the day we were there. The chips were large and flat, not totally cooked. The potato cake was huge but all the batter was overcrisp on the outside leaving not much potato in the middle. The chicken nuggets were just a shade off being burnt.

This was presented all dumped together in a cardboard open box. You get your serviettes and salt from a little table in the corner. We couldn't get a coffee either, just a can of drink. The tables outside were not the cleanest either.

This place is set in a fabulous location right on the wharfside with the boats bobbing in the river, set back from the road in a sort of open square with some parking and the large propellor memorial etc. It ought to be a wonderful experience, but as we'd already had better food else where, the location couldn't save it.

Might go again to try the other part but won't be rushing.

Approximate cost: $13

A pretentious fish&chippery, pretty basic facilities but silver service prices for a reasonable feed served up in a cardboard box My disaproval was heightened by having to wait for over 30 minutes for our order (placed just after the cafe had opened while locals wlked in to pick up their 'prephoned orders at least one of which was just like the one that I had placed. Incidentally they didn't have cuttlery or serviettes on the night either.

Approximate cost: $25
