Fantastic from start to finish

Woodpecker recently installed a wood heater at my property, and their team was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the selection process to find the perfect fit. The installation was smooth and hassle-free. I highly recommend their services!

Very disappointed. We brought an outdoor gas heater. We were not advised that it could not go into a partially enclosed area despite us describing how we wanted to use and install the unit. My builder call the manufacturer and was advised we could not install the unit. We believe there is a duty of care when you buy a heating unit for $6000 the retailer should make sure it is fit for purpose.

Upon returning the goods we were advised a 30% restocking fee would be deducted from our refund (yes $1800!!). The goods were unused and still in the original packaging.

It took over two weeks to get the refund and I had to complain numerous times. The restocking fee was less than $1800 in the end but over $600.

I still believe this fee is too excessive to return goods that we should not have been sold in the first place.

Be careful in what you chose and expect large fees if you return any goods

Approximate cost: $6000

Dear Malcolm

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear of your disappointment. In September we supplied all product information; its specifications, restrictions and capabilities for you and your builder to review, later we matched a competitors quote that you sourced. We did offer installation, site inspections, requested plans and photos but these were all declined. Our staff do try to give the best solution but they are reliant on the information they receive, especially as a supply only purchase
In November you ordered the unit which had to be ordered specially from the supplier, (these are non-returnable). Once told the unit would not be compliant we agreed to its return but as per T&Cs a re-stocking fee did apply. After discussions, the supplier agreed to take back the unit so we could reduce the restocking fee, the costs were for multiple freights, supplier restocking fees etc; We are sorry you feel this is unfair but unfortunately most businesses have to implement this policy especially for large non-stocked items they order in.

In response to comments on this post.....

This is not correct. We were offered a general brochure. We were not offered your builders at time of purchase. This was offered as an excuse for the onus being on me (the buyer) after we needed to return the goods. None of your invoicing state that there is a 30% restocking fee, which someone has advised should be in terms and conditions.

At no time did you request photos and plans.

Also it was my builder that called the manufacturer and was advised the product was not suitable.

If you are going to make comments - they should be accurate

On 4th May the Rotary Clubs of Huntingdale and Clayton held their joint annual Garden auction. This year proceeds were earmarked for Parkinsons Victoria to be used for services and research that improves the quality of life for 27,000 people living with Parkinson’s in Victoria – and what an amazing night it was - colourful, lively and very successful with around 120 attendees and $7,500 raised.
The success of the night was due to the generosity of many and in particular key sponsors such as Woodpecker who very kindly and generously donated a Weber BBQ which was the highlight of the night and attracted some serious bidding and contributed in no small way to the amount raised.
The Rotary Club of Huntingdale and Parkinson’s Victoria thanks Woodpecker for their generous support of this very worthwhile cause

Bought my Daikin reverse cycle air conditioner from Woodpecker 2 weeks ago. They installed it a week later and showed me how to use it. Hot summer nights are no longer a problem. Very happy with Daikin and the team at Woodpecker.

We've had our Heat'n'Glo gas log fire, purchased from Woodpecker, for a year now. We just LOVE it!! You flick a switch and it's on. It heats the room within a few minutes and really does look like a real fire. I've been known to sit and stare at it for ages!! People can't believe it's not real. There's no mess that's associated with a wood fire, no ash to deal with, no smoke blowing back into the house when it's windy, no fine layer of silt covering every surface in our lounge. I highly recommend this product and Woodpecker. Great products, awesome service - it was installed in less than a day!! We also had a Brivis evaporative cooling system installed by Woodpecker 5½ years ago. It's also been fantastic! Woodpecker has sorted us out – we're cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
