We decided to pay them a visit as we had family staying with us over the christmas period. Our experience here as been mixed, most of the time not so great. This time round there seemed to be more cheese to try and the women serving seemed to have a bit more knowledge than previously. Everyone enjoyed the tasting experience and we purchase a couple of pieces. The shop is quite nice and has many gift ideas and gourmet products.

After spending some time in Melba's we decided we required something savoury so we popped in for some taste testing of cheese. Once again, not a huge choice but with what we managed to try was truly delicious and of course we had to purchase some for our platter we were having later in the day. The lady serving was quite nice, but be warned their cheese is veryyyyy expensive.

Stopped here the other day on a day trip to the hills. I loved hearing from the lady serving how the majority of the products in this store are made from local ingredients and sourced from local farmers.
Unfortunately that seemed to be where her knowledge stopped. There were 5 cheeses to taste and it was as if she had memorised cue cards as to what they were as she was unable to answer any of our questions about them. We enquired about other types of cheeses to which she was unsure. When we pointed to one in the stand that we had asked about her reply was she didn't know that they had that and wasn't sure what it was. She didn't know what ricotta was either...?
There was only a small selection of cheese which, although lovely, were quite expensive.

Have been here a few times now and agree with you, very expensive and limited choice of cheese, yet delicious

We love our special cheese so when in the area we like to do some tasting of cheeses and always purchase some. Don't expect to see a huge range of cheese and make sure to take some extra cash or credit card as it is expensive here.

I like the cheese here.
We found a half goat, half cow milk cheese and it is something else! The place is tidy and it's usually serviced by one or 2 people. So don't go there expecting to be pampered.
And yes, everything is expensive. So line your pockets before you go.

We usually go here after going to the chocolate factory next door, expensive cheese but very nice, and the service is a bit slow.

Decided to do some cheese tasting before going to the Chocolate Factory next door. I was expecting more cheese than what was available - a choice of about 7 or 8 different types. Although the ones we tried were quite nice we settled on one called "ZEF Cheddar" this is the tastiest cheddar cheese I have ever tried so decided to buy a some block. Could not believe it was $56 kg, but purchased a small block anyway, have never paid that much before. Most of the cheese was around that price, honestly you can purchase it in the supermarket. They not only sell cheese but also oils, biscuits and jams.

Definitely worth a look, but be aware it is expensive.

With cheeses becoming more of an art, there are many that sell for well beyond that price.
But will need to check this one out next I'm in the area. Sounds interesting
