I was searching for a writer to record and document my mother's life story. I came across Gloria, and learned that she was a professional writer
who had already worked with several elderly men and women assisting them with a condensed biographical version of their life's experiences.
She spent a few hours with my mother, capturing on tape her anecdotes and stories. My mother says she was very comfortable talking to her
and enjoyed the whole process. The end result was a beautiful leather-bound booklet containing photographs and a printed version of mum's
life. We asked for several copies so that we could make gifts of these to friends and family members. Her fee was very reasonable and I am
so thrilled to have this lasting memento to cherish. She also gave us the original taped interview to keep.
When I turned 73 last year I thought the time had come to collect my memoirs into a small book or booklet.
I didn't feel I could manage to do this myself so I engaged Gloria, a writer who had been recommended to me by word of mouth. I was surprised how easy the whole experience turned out to be, and quite a lot of fun as well. We sat and chatted away like old friends while she recorded the story of my family life.
I asked her to have it bound for me, nothing too expensive, and she gave me a choice of covers to choose from.
My wife is so proud of the final booklet and shows it off to everyone. I felt I got good value for money.
