This was the worst burger I have ever eaten. My partner had the steak sandwich which was also extremely bad. My sister had the calamari and she said it tasted like old frozen food, so all round pretty terrible experience with the food!

The burger patty was very dry and the bun tasted like it was old. I had one bite and couldn't go on. The sauce was so bad and was the worst part of the burger. Waitress didn't ask how the food went, even when the entire burger was clearly left on the table, barely touched.

The steak sandwich had a watery taste to it, not a sprinkle of salt or seasoning was used and the lettuce was very shrivelled. The only reasonable part was the chips, although they also needed salt!

$50 for two very poor meals, will not be returning.

Approximate cost: $50

When I'm busting to go to the toilet in the city I always pop in here. Cheeky I know! I always grab a wine on the way out thought because 1. I appreciate a good pub and 2. Staff are super friendly

Pretty good pub food and in a great location near Flinders St Station. I've been to a few private functions here and they're always very good. Staff are attentive and good venue. Check out the cider bar upstairs. Atmosphere is good fun and they have a huge range of cider running on tap. Can get pretty busy during sports events. Worth popping by a Melbourne icon.

Young and Jacksons is one of the places we love to go when we get a day off from the children. The beers is always nice and cold, the ciders are simply delicious, and the large screen tvs are great for watching football or cricket, enjoying a nice saturday afternoon.

upstairs in chloes bar the cheesfood platter is very nice and the tapas are definitely recommended

I miss the silver service that Y&J s had when i first came to melbourne...

still a great place to meet friends

I highly recommend Chloe's restaurant situated upstairs at Young and Jacksons Hotel. The fantastic range of dishes on the menu are mouthwatering although our waiter pointed us to the Express Lunch menu which offers a main meal, complimentary wine/beer, coffee/tea and a "Treat" We ordered the baramundi and eye fillet steak. The meal was that wonderful we couldn't stop talking about it and the "Treat" was a beautiful mini desert consisting of a cheesecake portion sitting upon a raspberry coulis topped with Chantilly cream and chocolate fairyfloss. The service was amazing and attentive, the decor and ambiance of the restaurant was absolutely beautiful. Chloe's is one of Melbourne's finest restaurants and we will definitely be returning.

Approximate cost: $32pp

LOVE IT. its a must go to. Drinks are nice, beer is cold fresh. Always busy even at 1pm on a tuesday. Just across from the station. Love trying all the favour of the ciders. Pear, starwberry. They help support the local beer as well. I will say if your in melbourne stop and try a drink. Friendly staff. Service can be a bit hard at time but that due to how busy it it

The Young and Jackson is a two sided coin for me. Their restaurant is worth it with great food and service and reasonable prices. Book ahead though if looking to do a week day lunch as it looks like the office crews book here also. Their general bar area really depends on when you attend. Due to it's really good location accross the road from Flinders St Train Station it can get really busy which means it's packed and busy (therefore hard to get a drink). If you don't go during peak hour or before football games I think you would find it more enjoyable. I haven't been upstairs to the cider bar at this stage but will give it a go

Good location in the city opp the train station & federation square. The little rooftop cider bar is a nice spot for a drink on a sunny afternoon and the prices seem reasonable for the city.
