If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would. I've been here twice for dinner & have been blown away both times. This is an interesting concept. In the mornings, it's a vibrant cafe; at lunch time, it's a great place to meet - they serve outstanding coffee and takeaways that see regulars coming back day after day; and at night, it's a modern AUTHENTIC Thai restaurant and bar. They are open from 7.30am till late (closed on Monday nights) & serve breakfasts all day on weekends.

But I digress from the highlight - the incredible Thai cuisine at night. Let me start by explaining that the beautiful white cotton napkins are hand-made in Chang Mai, and the menu covers are made from raw silk from Thailand. Owners Greg and Shanya Richardson make an excellent team. The wait staff are extremely attentive and helpful. Greg will help you decide on a dish if you're unsure - there's plenty from which to choose.

For starters, we shared Grilled Satay Chicken Skewers with a delectable satay sauce (4 per serve @ $14) and the Steamed Salmon Souffle - fresh salmon pieces pureed with aromatic herbs and red curry paste, wrapped in a banana leaf parcel and steamed ($15). Wow!!

My favourite main dish is the Pad Char (Greg recommends the pork instead of chicken & I can see why). This stir-fry dish consists of pork (cooked to perfection) in chilli paste with strings of green peppercorns, slivers of wild ginger (similar to galangal), Thai apple eggplants, Thai pea eggplants and Thai holy basil (the real ingredients that you find in Thailand). The fragrant taste of this dish is absolute heaven on a plate! I find myself salivating, just thinking about these exquisite flavours. At just $19 for a generous portion, this is exceptional value. The steamed rice is charged separately ($3.50 per person).

One of the specials of the night was a spectacularly-presented dish of French green beans with roasted coconut, chicken and prawns in a light red curry sauce (similar to Chu Chee), served in a lettuce cup. Delectable!

For dessert, my friend had the Sticky Rice with Fresh Mango, which was simply delicious (I couldn't resist a taste!). I had a soy latte, which was the perfect end to an irresistible dinner.

This Thai cuisine is unlike any other I've tasted in Sydney - it's the real deal. You may just think you're in Thailand, because the dishes and ingredients are that authentic. You won't find capsicum (not in traditional Thai food) or any of the other ingredients so often used in run-of-the-mill Thai eateries. And this is what sets Your Place apart from the dime-a-dozen Thai spots on every street corner.

Shanya Richardson has established some of Sydney's most notable Thai restaurants, including Chedi Thai, Thailand and Thaifoon. She guides the skilled culinary team of Thai chefs to create dishes that focus on a fresh and spontaneous style of Asian cooking, marked by seasonal ingredients and superbly-balanced flavours.

I can't wait to go back. It's THAT good! My compliments to the Richardsons and all the excellent chefs at Your Place. Yes, I do believe, I have found 'My Place' and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the authentic tastes of Thailand.
