Our little Maltese Shitzu, Muffin, is twelve years old. She is a very special companion for my daughter who has been ill for many years. Muffin knows when my daughter needs a cuddle and hops onto her lap for a 'lick-fest'. Late last year, Muffin started drinking copious amounts of water and became extremely hungry. After doing numerous tests, she was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease. We changed vets shortly after this diagnosis and were lucky enough to find Dr Kevin Cruikshank at Gold Coast Vet Surgery. He took the time to talk to me on the phone about the treatments available for dogs with Cushing's. He has also been more than willing to assist with extra support when I've been worried about further symptoms of Cushing's as they've developed. This is extremely reassuring to me.
