I was lucky enough to have my photo shoot at Viva Joondalup on the weekend and what an experience from the first call with Manuel explaining how the process works and what to expect to the shoot itself and to choosing our amazing wall piece that we now get to treasure forever. These guys took the time to get to know my family and what we were after. nothing was a problem even with 3 very demanding kids on the day. I honestly cannot recommend Viva Photography Joondalup high enough. I have read some of the reviews on here and yes the photos are expensive but after doing my research before booking in I had found that most Professional Photography studios that don't offer a digital only package are priced very similar. would not hesitate to use Viva Joondalup again. Thanks guys

I'm not sure about what all these reviews below are, but I had a great experience at Viva in Joondalup. I'm quite aware that photography is expensive if you skim the bunch of amateur that advertise themselves as photographer and offer everything for a few $100s, but if you are looking for quality and professionalism there will be always a price to pay.
I did receive one of the voucher they offer and that simply gave me an excuse to go and have photos taken with my dog and my newborn, I wanted something very specific and at least I knew I would not have to pay if I didn't like the results.
The photographer, Manuel is an ex Vet and a dad too and understood exactly what I was after, I didn't think he was going to be able to capture a crazy dog and a newborn but he managed to give me plenty of images to choose from, always with a smile. Adrian in sales was too very patient and understanding of our situation and guided me through my options without any pressure.
I walked away with a great quality framed image of my family and I will treasure it for many years to come.
Thank you Viva Joondalup

Received a phone the other day saying i had won a $700 voucher with their company. I said i just had a lot of vet bills with my dog leg amputation recently and that i would like to proceed with the shoot in the next couple of weeks. So glad i have read these reviews as when the lady on the phone was explaining how it works and the pricing etc, i was just seeing big $$$$$ signs in my head.
So i think i will be blocking their number as i cannot afford to go ahead with these expensive photos. I will spend the money on my dogs ongoing treatment instead!

This company is relentless! I ‘won’ a ‘voucher’ for a photo shoot but after doing some research I realised it was a bit of a scam and decided not to proceed. I noticed on their fb page that basically anyone who entered wins the $700 ‘voucher’ so you’re not as special as they make you seem. I also noticed the prize didn’t really cover the cost of purchasing any photos either so it’s misleading as you’re likely to end up significantly out of pocket if you do take up the offer.

The company kept calling and calling and I told the lady I wasn’t interested but thanks for the offer but she wouldn’t stop talking, and the emails and calls kept coming! I just found the whole customer service element really pushy and annoying. I think they definitely market the 700 voucher as a ‘prize’ when it’s really not.

Glad i had read your review before i proceeded with the shoot. Same with me, i "Won" a $700 voucher and when i spoke to the lady on the phone, i could see this is going to cost me a lot of money!

sometimes instead of only reading reviews can be worth asking those direct questions to the business, I did and I was straight up told that I could have a small print (A4) from my session.. so I thought worse case scenario I spend 2 hours doing something different and have a photo to remember it.. of course they hope to get some money from you.. it's a business not a charity

I would pick 0 stars if I could. I received a phone call yesterday asking if I have received the email of winning a competition with them. I had said no but checked my email whilst on the phone and found the email. She brought nothing up about spending anything extra. I didn’t ask too many questions I just confirmed my info and that was that. I was excited I’d won a competition for the first time. When I told my friends and family, one of them decided to search up for any scams the company may do. We found out the company gives away vouchers to people but tries to push for you to purchase more than that’s on the voucher. Each print costs $375 for a 10x8inch photo which then needs to be put also on a canvas as digital print is not avalaible. I rang up today to ask some more questions. I didn’t mention I had now read up about these scams. Today it was a man that picked up the phone. I explained I wanted to ask a few more questions about winning this competition and if it’s all payed for. He then turned around to say I hadn’t won a competition “you haven’t won’t the main prize competition you have been given a runners up voucher of $700.” I asked for a price list for him to say each picture costs $375 and then you need to add this to a canvas which can cost from 450-3k. I said okay yes I understand, now is there a price list I can be sent or see, he started to repeat what he’d just said again and I had to say no I understood that but is there a price list I could see. Which there is not. I said okay so I am able to get 1 picture out of the shoot then with my voucher and he said yes but I have to come in for the hour shoot and they take loads of pictures and then I pick out of them and then have the option to buy more. I explained I’m a single mother and only want to use the voucher value and nothing more. This is when he had said yes I can do that but I am not allowed to just have one photo taken I have to have the hours worth of pictures but cannot have the ones I do not purchase. This is completely bizarre, unprofessional and very dodgy for a company. Not impressed at all.

Got told to wear bold colours that will stand out then when we arrived tgey said they only shoot in Sepia.
Way overpriced.. . And you are not given time to discuss it over. Do not get sucked in with vouchers.. that will get you one 6x4 photo
Avoid at all costs

I would advice anyone looking to get their photos taken, to look around else where and AVOID Viva at all cost ......

Their prices are ridiculous and the wait time for you to get your photos is way too long .......

We did our photo shoot in Fremantle .Huge waste of We did our photo shoot in Fremantle .Huge waste of money and time!!!!!!lovely photographer they smacked us with 4 picture in 1 flame for $1400.

They are just trying to rip off people's pocket any how with their very high rates and non- refundable policies. Never trust them and go for a photoshoot even you if you win voucher. They will almost force you to upgrade over your voucher limit.

Completely wasted time and we went there all dressed up and ideas in mind, they just rush you out of the studio.

I should have researched it better. Would NEVER use them again.

They will almost force you to upgrade over your voucher limit. They have a policy to charge $50 no show fees if person doesn't informs them 48 hrs before the appointment time even if you suddenly get ill or can't show up due to any emergency/genuine reason. They don't care about their customers' situation/ condition.

$325 for an 8x10" print is absolute extortion. Thankfully the photographer was devoid of personality and we only had a few worthwhile shots. Even at $29 for the shoot with $350 credit it still cost $1500 to get four photos (3 in a single frame, 1 just photo). Would NEVER use them again. And you have to wait 4-6 weeks for your prints!

Approximate cost: $1550
