Last Sunday afternoon, one of the neighbor's feral children smashed our bedroom with a wayward cricket ball, so my wife rang Headlands Glass in Southern Cross Drive Ballina. They had the window replaced in under 4 hours and all I had to do was to give my neighbor the bill and some parenting advice.
Their service was prompt and professional, and the price was reasonable (especially since I would not be footing the bill). I could not fault them!
Ballina Fair Swim N Gym in the Ballina Fair Shopping Centre is a fully equipped air conditioned gym. It has a group fitness floor attached to a 25 metre (6 lane) heated indoor swimming pool, and offers casual visits and memberships. There is a swim school that operates from the centre, with learn to swim all year round - for babies to adults and performance squads. The atmosphere is good and the staff are friendly. Membership prices are a bit expensive but the facilities are good so it's to be expected.
The Ballina Bakehouse is a hot bread and cake shop in the Ballina West Shopping centre. They are a dim, dinky little shop, with a limited range of products, but they do make nice bread. A loaf of their bread costs around $3.50 (as compared to a generic loaf @$1.29 in one of the neighbouring stores), but like i said, it is nice bread. Their Wylie pies are tasty too. They supply them wholesale to businesses in the area.
My favourite takeaway shop would have to be Bondies At The Bay in Norton Street. They have fresh home made chips and scallops, fish, super burgers, sandwiches & wraps, breakfast daily, and tea & coffee. Their prices are reasonable with the average cost of a hamburger being about $7, and they're huge! The staff are friendly and the service is quick. They take phone orders so to save time we like to phone our orders ahead. Their food tastes great, we have never had anything from there that we didn't like.
We recently decided to sell my wife's car and get her a new one so we enlisted Ballina A-1 Auto Detailing of North Creek Road Ballina to spruce up the old one before we advertised it on EBay. They went to town on it (and I don't mean they drove it). They gave it a exterior shine buff and polish, an interior clean, and shampooed the seats and carpets. I never realised how dirty it was until I seen it clean. They did an excellent job and their price was reasonable. I would definitely use their services again!
For the last couple of years my wife has been nagging me about home security and how we needed locks on all of our windows, so recently we enlisted Ballina Locksmiths to do just that. They were very professional, they came out and gave us a quote, and returned the next day to install the locks. In my opinion they were a bit expensive, however, according to my wife “you get what you pay for†and “you can't put a price on your family's securityâ€. However, I was happy overall with their job.
Our business usually uses Vistaprint for our printing needs but recently we needed some flyers printed up in a hurry for a promotion we were running, and so we enlisted Ballina Printers in De Havilland Crescent to print them up for us. We faxed off a rough draft of what we wanted to them Wednesday morning, they had it ready for approval that afternoon, and the flyers were ready to pick up by lunchtime the following day. We were very happy with their service. They were friendly and professional and their prices were reasonable. We couldn't fault them!
We recently had our old concrete rainwater tank replaced with a nice, new 5000 litre plastic Bushmans tank by the nice people at Northern Rivers Tank Service. We've needed a new tank for a while now but I've been putting off because I thought the process would be a hassle. Quite the contrary, it was easy as. From the time my wife rang up to arrange a quote to when installation was complete was less than a fortnight. We were very impressed! Their prices were reasonable and they helped us obtain the government rebate. Their service was very professional. 10 out of 10.
I recently purchased a Mitsubishi split system air conditioner for our bedroom from Hinterland Air in Lennox Head. It was a 2.3kw system, and the price was $1,350 fully installed, which i thought was reasonable. The staff were friendly, installation was quick, and unlike a lot of other tradespeople we've had in our house, they didn't leave a mess. The unit is excellent and we are very happy with a job well done!
During the Christmas school holidays, my wife and I took the family for a weeklong trip to the Gold Coast. We weren't really keen about sending our two pets Jaybe (the cat) and Benny (the dog) to a boarding facility so we enlisted the help of Ballina Pet Minders to come to our house daily and feed and water our animals.
We were very impressed with their service. When we returned the animals were in good spirits, they had been groomed, and best of all the silverware was still where we left it. They even collected our mail and newspapers daily for us. I highly recommend them.
