I looked on this site for a reputable roadside mechanic with lots of great reviews and came up with About Town Mobile Mechanics. I logged onto their site and put in my details for a free quote. Robert rang me in less than 10 minutes, after a brief discussion he was able to tell me the problem was most likely not going to be able to be fixed roadside and was not only good enough to recommend me where to get it fixed but he got in touch with the repairer and had them call me within 5 minutes. I can definitely vouch for the integrity and of this service and Robert was extremely helpful in getting me back on the road.

I just wanted to say thank you to Robert from About Town Mobile Mechanics for the exceptional service he provided in assessing my car recently. Within 1 minute of requesting a quote online I received a phone call and then 15 minutes later Robert was at my home fixing my car. The service provided was genuine, honest, extremely prompt and friendly. I highly recommend this business.

Called About Town Mobile because a friends car had broken down. It was the 3rd time I've used them and service is always excellent. In this instance, the mechanic actually talked us through the problem over the phone rather than coming out and charging us. We managed to fix the issue ourselves at no cost. Staff are always friendly and proficient.

I called About Town Mobile Mechanics Melbourne last week my car had broken down and it wasn't able to be fixed on the side of the road Rob the mobile mechanic was fantastic he organized a tow truck over the phone fast the tow truck picked me and my car up within the hour and dropped it off to my house.

This business has great customer service as it's number 1 priority in mind and can be trusted if you need emergency roadside assistance in Melbourne.

So if you need breakdown towing or a simple jump start or a new car battery you won't find a more honest business than this one!!!

After reading all the glowing reviews about this business, I gave Rob a call.

HOWEVER, HE IS NOW ONLY OFFERING ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE and has declined service and repair work, effective January 2011.

He was very upfront and honest about this, as he was not wishing to take on any new service/repair customers and is trying to (politely) tell his existing customers that he can no longer do their work.

A great pity as he sounded like the mechanic I was looking for. Bugger!

Asked Rob for major service for my bomb. He was polite and well spoken. He explained everything, fixed all the problems I pointed out and picked up on others that I never really noticed cos I don't understand much about cars. He also made recommendations on what to do with my car to keep it running smoothly. What more could a bloke ask for!

Updated: I've driven the car since then and it's very obvious that Rob has done a great job. All the crap I had to put up with has gone. It's a much smoother ride despite still being a bomb.

I got Robert to inspect a car in that I was thinking of purchasing. He provided a very comprehensive and unbias report and went above and beyond the level of service I had expected. I'm so impressed and he has restored my faith in human kind... by the way I didn't end up buying the car... I reckon Robert saved me thousands on future repair bills.

I don't know about you, but I don't trust mechanics easily! About Town Mobile Mechanics owned by Rob has restored by faith in this service ...well as far as Rob is concerned; can't imagine using anyone else now. Rob is a professional, courteous, respectful, organised and transparent service provider. He arrived within the alloted time range. I would use this business again for other repairs!

They were professional on the phone, courteous, clear, prompt & reliable with competitive prices. They answered all my questions easily and knew what they were talking about & I would certainly use them again.

I found Mobile Mechanics through WOMOW and thought I'd give them a go. I asked for a quote for a minor service on-line and the reply came back later that day for the service only. I then asked for some more information on the likely cost of parts and, again, had a reply the same day as I requested the information.

I then called and was offered a 2 hour time slot for the work for 2 business days later. This was then confirmed later that day with an email that also requested vehicle information.

So far, so good.
On the day, the mechanic arrived half an hour into the agreed time slot. He asked me to stay with him while he fixed a couple of minor special requests that were outside of the standard service. I think this was just to show me that he knew what he was doing and he did. I then left him to it and about 90 minutes the job was done. He gave me some advice about tyres etc and then asked me to test drive the car.

I can honestly say that I have never had a service where the work could CLEARLY be heard and felt in the way the car drove.

I was not charged for the minor adjustments that I had witnessed, only the servicing.
As far as I am concerned I would use them again without hesitation and recommend them.

I had my car serviced a couple of weeks ago with About Town Mobile Mechanics. I had a minor service plus parts, the price was very reasonable given I had not serviced my car for about 9 months! I have been very happy with how my car has been running since then and I will be using this business again. A+++ What a relief to finally find a mechanic who knows the meaning of the word service! After numerous bad (and expensive!) experiences with other mechanics to fix an ongoing problem (which never got fixed), Rob showed up on time, with a friendly smile and got my car running within the hour! Friendly, approachable, pleasant, convenient service. Brake pads had to be replaced, but brake fluid levels and engine oils levels also checked. Further advice was also provided that tyres were in need of replacing very soon. For a female driver, this sort of service is very much appreciated! Excellent friendly and prompt service. Its really convenient to have someone come to your home at a suitable time, instead of leaving your car for the whole day at a service centre. I guess they could also come to your place of work, so you wouldn't need to be without a car at all.

My power steering had gone, I rang Ace and a few other mechanics that could come to my car and didn't get a reply until a few days later, after requesting a quote from About motors I had a response in no more then 10 minutes and arranged the car to be fixed they next day, Rob was really good explained everything and didn't rip me off the service and price was A++ will definitely use again.
