I’ve spent the last few weeks trying to get my grandparents air con fixed that has broken down in a heat wave. AC store Northlakes is the company that installed it. I used them before and didn’t have any issues. Apparently they sub-contract the
actual instal out to other companies. Who clearly don’t care as it’s not their company. Ezylec is the installers that came out but they paid close to $2000 to AC store.

When they installed it. Within 3 days it leaked so badly that it destroyed a wooden cabinet that was under it and family photos that couldn’t be replaced. Back and forth to the company, they eventually sent someone out who gave every excuse under the sun and blamed blocked gutters and rain for the leak… yet in 20 years prior the other air con never leaked!

Anyway it was eventually fixed. Less than a year later it completely broke down. AC store wanted nothing to do with it and told me to contact the manufacturer direct.

Haier is the brand that is owned by FISHER & PAYKEL APPLIANCES LTD

After a long and tedious process they eventually sent someone out and fixed it under warranty.

Now 4 years later the air con has stopped working again during a heat wave. The unit is not used that much, more so during winter for heating.

I contacted AC store to tell of the dissatisfaction of the machine breaking down 3 times in 4-5 years.

He basically told me it wasn’t his issue and I should only expect a 2k air conditioner to last 5 years….

So back to the manufacturer again that is located in NZ. Turns out they have the previous case number, but the person that left didn’t update the records correctly so they have no idea what was fixed or replaced. They gave me the number of the technician they use. A week to get an appointed and they squeezed me in.

Finally a reputable person it seems as they tell me it’s extremely lucky the house didn’t burn down as the positive and negative cables were wired up wrong! It’s causing it to surge and now it’s really broken lol

Hmm you guess it no one is taking responsibility as to who ‘wired it wrong’ .

You know we take pride in our customer service, and installation if there had been an issue with it 2018 they would have found it with that board issue then, your online comment about us hurts our business and reputation and for something that we have been really communicative with we are disappointed you said that about us.

At least 3 supposed trained electricians have looked at this air conditioner and not one of them reported the wiring.

I’ve spent probably 20 hours of my time trying to sort out all these issues.
