After picking up my car I stopped here to purchase a pie for lunch. Always a popular bakery as the products are tasty. No exception today.
This bakery has been in Blackwood for many years and is in the same group of shops as my previous review. Cup of coffee here watching the passing parade was nice. This store has a large range of both sweet and savoury items. Always busy at lunch time with the tradies enjoying the offerings.
I always find it hard to walk passed a bakery if I am feeling a little hungry, the aroma usually draws me in. On this occasion my girlfriend and I purchased some fresh rolls and a pie each. Our pies were packed full of delicious quality meat and the pastry was perfect. A delicious unplanned snack.
While out shopping I could not resist purchasing a pie to eat immediately. There is outside seating and the aroma of baking encourages me to stop here. Enjoyed the pie, and there were a number of workers from around the area also enjoying their choice of bakery food
Akkerman's Bakery in Blackwood is an old established bakery that has served the area for many years. Really like buying a sausage roll here when passing by. The tradies seem to like it too as there is always a queue at lunch times. Friendly and efficient staff too.
I don't think I have been to this bakery, will give them a try next time, thanks
I love older bakeries as their food tastes far better than other competing stores. It is unfortunate that I do not live in the area because I would love to try their food for myself. The customer service sounds great too.
I recently purchased a jam and cream sponge cake for my fathers birthday celebration. The cake was lovely and moist and fresh. The staff were friendly. The only downside is that their is no EFTPOS facility.
Akkerman's is without a doubt my favourite bakery! The food here is freshly baked every day - if you arrive early enough you can see them making all the delicious foods. The food is amazingly good and incredibly tasty.
They have all the normal ranges of pies/pasties/sausage rolls as well as a few of their own special recipes such as a Ned Kelly pie, spaghetti pie and chilli pie (very spicy). My personal favourite is the potato pie - the best I've ever tasted by far.
There is also a wide range of fresh buns made daily - including Kitchener buns, eclairs, Berliners, vanilla slices, finger buns, doughnuts, and heaps more. There is also a wide range of bread, bread rolls, bread sticks and hot and cold beverages available. Plenty of seats inside and out.
The service is second to none. The staff here are so polite and friendly. I really love coming here each time. Be warned though: 1) they don't have eftpos facilities and 2) it is incredibly busy so the earlier you go, the better to avoid missing out!
I strongly recommend Akkerman's Bakery!
Approximate cost: $4
Sounds delicious with great variety!
As with all bakeries in the Adelaide Hills and Surrounding suburbs, this bakery is very delicious and served by very friendly staff. No complaints at all.
This bakery has great pies and pasties and sausage rolls as well as other very nice baked goods. (Desserts and fattening things). My favourite is a sausage roll on a cold winters day
A lovely bakery with excellent food. Cakes & slices are extremely appetizing and prices are pretty good too. They also make doughnuts which is an added bonus as not many bakeries do! Service was polite and very quick.
