Having your first hair cut after you have lost every hair on your body to chemo is a very stressful thing to do, which is probably why I had put it off for months. I was wondering how I was going to find someone that would value every millimetre of hard grown hair that I had that I didnt want to part with. I was more self-conscious than when I was a teenager going into a salon with women with thick locks of hair that could give or a take a centimetre and it wouldnt be the end of the world. But for me I only had a precious 3cms to my name I even googled specialist hairdressers to see if there was anyone who worked with cancer patients to help them deal with this issue. But that is another story because apart from not having been to a hairdresser for 18 months while I had my treatment, it coincided with me deciding to get married. And this is where I needed a hairdresser extraordinaire to help me through this incredibly stressful time. I cant speak highly enough of Alex PF Jackson hairdressing. I only met him one week before the wedding. Why would you leave it to the last minute as I said because up until 6 months earlier I was completely bald after chemo and radiotherapy. In fact my hair was such a non-event that I even organised a 10.00 am wedding on a Sat morning because I didnt think that it would take us that long to get ready. And if this wasnt making things complicated enough, apart from my mum and the bridesmaids, I had 8 flower girls! This is all obviously significantly contributing to a lot of pressure for Alex. But he not only rose to the occasion, but exceeded it beyond measure. He has the calmest demeanour in chaos (seriously 8 flower girls is a lot of excitement in one room for 3 hours). He is the most sensitive human being, has generous spirit, great sense of humour and deep passion for life. On top of all this he is a brilliant hairdresser AND makeup artist. He certainly was a gift to me, and made my wedding day so special. I will never be able to thank him enough.

From the beginning to the end, i was fully pampered. I have only lived in Sydney for three months so choosing a new hairdresser I thought would be challenging. Alex P F Jackson made my decision so simple. Having a new colour and new hair style Alex P F Jackson granted all my wishes very well. I love my new hair and I will definitely be returning!

I really enjoyed my first appointment with Alex! He took the time to ask me all about my hair and what I wanted to change, then talked me through how he was going to achieve it. I loved Alex's approach to his clients and his relaxed manner. I'll be recommending him to all my friends!
