I came in to shorten a shirt dress and to cut excess material that was pinned before I left. Cost was not cheap close to $300 which is more than the dress itself. I came back to pick up to find that they have removed the pocket which is part of the feature of the dress. I was apparently told of this which I would have remembered and would have said ‘No’ outright. No phone call to confirm as you would think it odd. Apparently, it was going to cost me much more if I left the pocket. They could have removed elsewhere which was pinned behind the dress and not the side. Very disappointed and I’m sure I will be told that I ‘misheard’ just like the other reviews that left a bad review. They didn’t even offer to rectify the error. To put salt in the wound, they handed me the material with the pocket. I suppose they wanted me to go elsewhere to fix their mistake.

Just amazing customer service, and attention to detail. Nothing is ever too much trouble for these guys. Not cheap, but probably on a par with most alteration services.

I have taken several pairs of trousers here to be altered and the staff are very friendly. They have changing rooms and will pin items for you so you don't have to do this beforehand. I have found that they do a good job and complete the work very quickly. I did have one occasion where the trouser leg was still too long after they had done the work and they re-did it free of charge. I do feel their prices are a little high though and it does put me off going back in the future.

Alter It Camberwell is part of a chain, so the workmanship is good and the turnaround is quick. Service is satisfactory, but I feel the prices are too high. I guess I'm just looking for a friendly local tailor/seamstress/repairer who doesn't charge $65 to take in a dress.

Took three items for minor alterations.
One item for sleeves to be taken up & buttons moved - when items collected the sleeves were different lengths & buttons out of alignment. Second item hem uneven, third item was taken in and very well done. I got no satisfaction when I pointed out the problems.
