Altona ICE

This shop is in a perfect location, just around the corner from the busy and vibrant shopping area of Pier St. And literally just down the road a bit from the namesake pier in Altona.

It's always busy in there, especially on hot days like it has been lately. So service was a little slow, but there was a lovely view to enjoy and sea breezes which weren't too full of that seaweed aroma Altona is famous for.

We ate in the lovely garden area in Pier Street which has shady trees, a playground and some seating because when it's a little windy, the sand can whip up into your food.

Then after a walk on the Pier we went back for an ice-cream. So many great flavours, it's hard to choose.

The fish was very nice - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. There were a lot of chips and we didn't get through them all.

Very nice people to deal with too, even when they are busy.
A great place to check out during a visit to Altona beach.

The south melbuorne dim sims are amazing for Altona Ice.. you get your order taken straight away, but downfall is you need to wait a while as it's always packed with people.. we walk out onto the beach while we're waiting so not such a bad thing.. yummy burgers though.. worth the wait.

i have to say this place hits the spot, its close to the beach,the food is just tasty,and u can never miss out on the wonderfull full of flavour, and choice of ice cream....

We travel from Point Cook to get some tasty, chrunchy fish n'chips... there is always service with a smile even when they're flat out. Ring in your order and pick it up and enjoy it on the beach - perfect dining experience. Then wander back for an ice cream, YUM! (that's what we do)

right across the rd from the beach, so in summer its great. There is also a ice cream shop attached to the side of the building... great in summer
